I'm new |
I recently began to unload a storage locker that is climate controlled (on cool side) and found many many things that I defintely over bought - I've had these things for at least 5-7 years. What is the shelf life of: shampoo's, conditioners and hair products, cotton balls (still in unopened bags), body washes in bottles, soaps, perfumes, fragranced body lotions and creams, eye makeup remover, toners, all sorts of makeup items, tons of nail polishes, perfumes, etc., etc., etc. - can any of these things do any damage? Do the molecules break down so to speak and simply render them too old for use? I have lot of this stuff - truly. Any concrete help would really be appreciated. Thanks!

i would say as far as the lotions go, around
5 yrs. usually i go by the expiration date and just smelling it, soaps, lotions, bubble bath, gels but on the other hand some of those can last more, if you have them stored in a non fluctuating temp, consistent atmosphere. the product would break down eventually, seperation of products, discoloration, smell. welcome to the forum, btw! |

Good to see you, Souffle Lady!!! I always loved your siamese cat icon. Please bring it back for a visit
Shelf life varies. Maybe 3 years or whenever the caps on the tubes of body cream to start to crack or VBN turns light yellow. I have had MAJOR issues with Bodycology Vanilla Butter Cream and the Jaqua Butter Cream going really bad in less than six months. They turned unmentionally foul and got tossed. |
