Since this new fragrance line @ Sephora seems to be the latest hot beauty buzz, I thought it might be appropriate to start a thread for this brand. Here's the official link for perusal: Lavanila

I smelled the Pure Vanilla perfume this weekend. It was indeed a "pure vanilla" scent. This is exactly what I wish the Fresh Vanilla EDT would've been like. Yes Unfortunately, I don't know if I can add it to my fragrance wishlist b/c there's a lot of other fragrances on there already.

If this scent was available in a rollon, I might consider getting it.

I wonder why the Lavanila EdP sprays are so expensive.
They're 1.7 fl oz and cost $56, whilst the EdP rollerball is 1 oz, and is only $15.

I am hoping the two other scents will also be available in rollerballs at one point.crossfingers

I am interested in the Pure Vanilla one mostly.

Megan, thanks for starting this thread. I think Lavanilla is my latest personal pimp item. Razzer

Fryl, after reading your post I had to actually go and check the size of my Lavanilla bottle -- it seems like it should be at least 2 or 3 times as much as the rollerball, but you're right! I guess they priced the spray so much higher because silly people like me don't bother to read the fine print and think they're getting so much more! Roll Eyes

But I do love the scent. I had the chance to smell all three at Sephora, and they're all quite nice. Yes

Pure Vanilla smells like exactly that, without that alcoholic note that so many vanillas have. I was watching a special presentation of this on QVC a few months ago, and the creators were on tv talking about it, and they described this scent as "innocent" -- I can definitely see where they were coming from for this one. I wouldn't call this a "sexy" vanilla, but it's great just the same.

Vanilla Blossom was really nice, and calling it a mix of floral and vanilla just doesn't do it proper justice. It's such a unique scent -- it was simple and complex at the same time, if that makes any sense. Not too floral as to scare away the floral-phobes among us. This is my second favorite of the three.

Vanilla Grapefruit is my favorite, of course. Big Grin It's one of the very, very few vanilla scents that I can actually wear. I've noticed that the grapefruit note is prominent when you first put it on, and then the vanilla note comes out more as it dries down.

Of course, for packaging junkies (ahem ... you know who you are Rotflol), this is by far the most beautiful packaging I have EVER seen for a fragrance. If you haven't seen this in person, hurry up and get to a Sephora and check it out!! I posted this in another thread, but the brown part is actually a laser-cut cover that slides over the solid colored box. It's like a little stained glass window. And the sides of the box are even more beautiful than the front. I actually saved this box -- I can't bring myself to throw it away! And I never save packaging.

Ok, I'll shut up about Lavanilla now! Crazy

Ciao!
Janelle

I know, I was surprised to find out the bottle was only 1.7 oz. idunno It's not a squibby looking bottle, as some other 1.7 oz. bottles (i.e. VS Sexy Little Things) are.

Now that I took a chance to look @ the Sephora website, Vanilla Blossom sounds like something I need to sniff too. I actually like floral scents when it comes to perfume. Yes

Uh oh, I was actually the one who's made the mistake because the rollerball is only .33 fl oz and not 1 fl oz like I posted previously.Bonk
Sorry!Red Face
I get confused with the fl oz, I thought I had read 30 ml (which is 1 fl oz).
That makes $56 a great deal for the 1.7 fl oz bottle. Thumbsup

I think my Grapefruit Vanilla is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I can't wait to smell it.

I don't like florals at all but Vanilla Blossom sounds really good to me.
I would actually like some of the Fresh scents like Lychee Sugar and Sugar Blossom, if they didn't smell so darn artificial.
Frowner
So I'm hoping to have better luck with VB.Smiler

And I admit to being a packaging junkie!Big Grin

Okay, so I had the chance to try out Lavanila Grapefruit. First if all, I am getting this in a full-sized bottle.
It's truly wonderful.
Like Janelle said, the Grapefruit note is very prominent in the beginning but then it wears off. Not as quickly as with CSP scents though, and you can still smell it faintly in the background.
You can also smell the vanilla note right after you put it on, but very very subtly. It grows stronger as the grapefruit wears off, into on of the most amazing vanilla scents ever!!!!Love

Okay, I really need a drool emoticon.

I can see why this is a bestseller!!
Janelle, this is an awesome pimp scent to have!! Thumbsup

Wow! This fragrance sounds really promising! Now I really want to try it. Would you guys say that it's a summer fragrance or it could be year round?

Jade, I think you could wear this year round.

I am sniffing my wrist right now, and I can still smell both the grapefruit and vanilla.
Love

I think you'll like this scent a lot.Yes

Rotflol

I'll be placing an order for a full-sized Lavanila Grapefruit as soon as I can figure out what else to get.

By the way, have you had the chance to try your Lolita Lempicka yet? Smiler

How about another NARS blush? Sin & Outlaw are gorgeous too. Not trying to tempt you or anything!! Big Grin

I've used the Lolita Lempicka 1x so far, I'm not sure if I like it. It smells kind of like soap on me. Errr Frowner

I got my fall Sephora catalog in the mail & noticed these.

Lavanila Body Butter

It's exciting to see that they're making this stuff in B&B products, but $25 is a little bit too steep.

Very interesting! Thanks for posting, Megan.
The packaging is just gorgeous!!
I still haven't got the chance to sniff the two other scents. I really wished they came in rollerballs as well.

This sounds really divine. I think I'd like all the scents! Hopefully I'll be able to get to the closest Sephora store sometime soon (it is about 2.5 hours away in Pittsburgh - there are 3 darn Sephoras in that city but hardly any more anywhere else in PA! Banghead) so I can try some.

I can't wait to smell the Vanilla Blossom I just ordered. I really wanted to get the Pure Vanilla one as well, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much even with the 20% discount on Sephora. I have found a way to try the Pure Vanilla without spending so much though; it comes in a roll-on and it's available on beauty.com for $18!!
Lavanila Pure Vanilla roll-on
I recall the Vanilla Grapefruit roll-on costing only $15 on the Sephora website, but beauty.com and drugstore.com have their FF event this coming Wednesday.
You have to go through a link, which I was e-mailed. I'll post it later.Smiler
