I had nothing much to do during the snow stom yesterday, so did research on what manufacturers make which 'designer' fragrances. Pretty interesting. You can do the same by turning over the boxes in department and drug stores.
Rotflol

Jennifer Lopez - Coty
Kimora Lee Simmons - Coty
David Beckham - Coty
Britney Spears - Elizabeth Arden
Hillary Duff - Elizabeth Arden
Usher - Coty
Beyonce - Estee Lauder and whoever makes Armani (L'Oreal)

Angel - Clarins
Unforgivable (Diddy) - Estee Lauder
Tommy H - Estee Lauder
Elizabeth Taylor - Elizabeth Arden
Michael Kors - Givenchy

There are probably more. Lancaster is Coty's prestige line. That's how they can sell designer perfume in Walgreen's.

I no longer shop at WalMart since seeing a very disturbing program on TV about how they encourage their employees to go on public assisance for health care and cheat them out of overtime.

Reading these lists really irritated me because of the amount of celebrity fragrances. Nothing could make me buy a celebrity fragrance... it's such a stupid concept. Anybody have the same thoughts?

Celebrity fragrances aren't really my thing either, barring a few exceptions. Most of the celebrities aren't really involved in creating the fragrances; they're just the person they use in advertisements. However, I think a fragrance called "Elizabeth Arden Midnight Fantasy" wouldn't sell as good as Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy. The celebrity brand name (whether you like the celebrity or not) is what gets people talking about these fragrances. On the other hand, I've read that SJP is actively involved in designing her own fragrances, so I'd consider purchasing one of hers if I ever end up liking one.

I have two celebrity fragrances, and both are Britney Spears'. Rotflol
I only like designer fragrances, but I made an exception because they smelled good to me and I got them on sale.
