I have some troubling news for the board.
We have a Bath and Body Works club of three main individuals, two of whom are identical twins.
Well, I had to suspend one of the twins two weeks ago because, after many weeks of anticipation of the new temptations products, she went to the store on October 15 (first day of the release), tested out the line, AND DID NOT BUY ANYTHING!!! My wife (the other twin) and I left work early and went to the store. Three coupons and $48 later, we left with Pumpkin Pie Paradise lotion, Vanilla Ice Cream body splash, Whipped Delight Shimmer Body Mousse, the new pumpkin wallflower for Halloween, and the scary bear that makes scary sounds, plus a tester size of glittery gumdrop. We had all been waiting for glittery gumdrop. The other twin (sister-in-law) said it smelled like chemicals. We had her on speaker phone and she was immediately suspended.
After about a week of suspension, I administered a re-entry exam. See attached. She only got a 66.7% I could not believe it. However, she is not so good at taking tests, so I had her write an essay explaining why she belonged in the club. I thought it was heart-felt, so I re-admitted her.
However, a couple of days later, I had to suspend my own wife. We had spent several days over the past couple of years developing a complicated Excel spreadsheet that listed out entire inventory, including dates, sizes, descriptions, usage estimates, time to completion, etc. It was very extensive. Anyway, a couple of months ago, she got a new job. The up-to-date spreadsheet was on her work computer so it could be kept up to date on a daily basis. If I switched jobs, that would have been the first thing that I would have secured. However, she left the file on her old computer and it is lost forever. Now we have to redo it, which I don't mind, but I had to suspend her for not having her priorities right.
I readmitted her, though, because she has been doing a good job introducing out 9-month old son to B&BW products. Right now, he uses the entire Mustela baby line.
So, now our club is whole again. I hope two of our members have learned a think or two about dedication and commitment.
Hope all is well with our fellow fans.

Wasn't too sure either. There was an attachment a document/the spreadsheet referenced in the post, that I deleted just in case it was something bad. Could have been just a spreadsheet with what was talked about but took the cautious route since they are a new member.

OK...sorry...I should have explained some background first, since I have not been on the board in some time. However, I have read a lot of posts of people similar to us that track consumption and have a true love for B&BW products.
It all started about 6-7 years ago when we got our first lotions. It has been a competition ever since to see who can get the most and best lotions, sprays, showers gels, etc. We love B&BW and are always the first in line when new products come out.
When we found the board, it was like we finally found our home. We formalized our club and really got serious about B&BW. We started inventorying our products and giving daily updates. This is the short version of the history of the club.
The attachment was a Word file that was the re-admission to the club exam that I distributed. It was actually pretty funny...no viruses or anything. If you want me to repost it, let me know. It was challenging and it would be interesting to see how other people score on it.
So...sorry about the confusion/lack of background. We just had a couple of eventful instances and I had to tell someone about it. We love reading the posts here and I thought this would be a good place to share these experiences.
On a separate note, I just heard that there is going to be a new Temptations coming out...something like Strawberry Mint. Anyone know anything about it?

Oh No You Didn't -
What is so confusing? When a bunch of people have something in common, they start a club...just like this board. Members of a club agree to operate based on certain principles and beliefs.
Are you just posting comments about your confusion so that it will count as a post? You only have 463 posts and you need 1000 posts before you get to level 5. You really should concentrate on posting some news or developments about products. Otherwise, I just don't see any value.
I look forward to reading something valuable from you.
Best regards,
Brother.

Brother, who are you to judge what is a worthwhile post or not? I seriously doubt OhNo was making that post just to add "one more" to her number total. Roll Eyes

I think the confusion stems from your seemingly random story.

Becky:
First of all...thanks for the love...I really needed it today.
Second, I am not judging anyone...anyone who is a B&BW fan is automatically judged positively. Smiler
Third, at 4,779 posts, I am in awe.

However, I don't know why my story is being attacked. It was a serious event that happened and so I shared it. I would equate it to someone in California writing about how they were affected by the recent fires. Sometimes when something eventful happens, you need to share it...so I did. I expected to receive messages of support, not a bunch of WTF's...that is just rude and very uncharacteristic of the people I run into at my local B&BW's.
Best regards,
Brother Popcorn

Well, it's just that it's very confusing at first. You talk to us like you know all of us, yet you are suprised at our lack of enthusiasm. There's a difference between being a lurker and a full member and posting something like this.

Well, Brother, being a fellow Michiganite (Michiganian?) may have helped me, but I understood your post perfectly. I love puppies too (however they grow up WAY too quickly). The sweet cinnamon pumpkin thing I have to disagree with though. Except for Juniper Breeze and Rice Flower and Shea, it was one of most difficult ones I had to use up.
I have a spreadsheet that is very simplistic that I devote to my stash and the order in which I will use them(loosely based on the age of the product and trying not to use scents that are too much alike right after the other). I believe I my have a little of the OCD in me (I prefer to call it CDO, keeping it in alphabetical order).
So welcome-any guy who understands the addiction and fascination with BBW rules in my book.

rother are you seriously comparing a Bath & Body Works club to someone whos been affected by a fire .. you def get a WTF here buddy.. insane huh
Lay off the BBW Crack

What good is a Club where people get "suspended" for an opinion anyway ? (referring to your sister or whoever who got suspended for not liking Glittery Gum Drop)

Ok... I have been away for awhile...busy with going to school and teaching...and BTW.. I do live in California...and have been effected by the fires (22) in all burning at ONE TIME. The school district I work for was closed for 3 days due to the horrific smoke and almost half of our staff was evacuated due to the proximatey of the Worthless triplemad fires and FLAMES to their homes cloudy...
So, for a NEW MEMBER or anyone with HALF a BRAIN to come on this board or any other board and compare a RANDOM post regarding BBW products and some stupid SPREAD SHEET is very tacky. The fires in CALIFORNIA have caused so many people heartache and pain not to mention the deaths that resulted from these fires that were more than likely set by ARSON FREAKS.
Many Men and Women put their lives on the line to fight the fires and protect our homes and some of them were injured...
So, pardon me if I am a bit offended by BROTHER'S Curse ASSANINE comments... It was thoughtless and quite frankly offended me. rant I love BBW and I love shopping but, to be quite honest your comment was in very poor taste...
WHY IN THE HECK WOULD YOU EVEN MAKE SUCH A SHALLOW COMMENT???????????????
This is only my opinion and I am sorry if I offended anyone other than BROTHER and I am sorry to have ranted Soapbox

Whoa...Crystal and Kathi....CHILL!
I wasn't in any way making light of the California fires. They are very serious and I agree...it is really ridiculous that they were probably started by some idiot playing with matches.
The point I was making is that it was an event that affected someone's life. If I were that person, I would want to talk about it...as you have. I had an event happen too. In your opinion, it was trivial. Maybe, in comparison to a fire, it was. But I wanted to talk about it. This board is about talking about less trivial things like lotions and candles. If you want to be so serious, watch CNN.
Give me a break here.
In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of people on this board that track their inventories and the like. It is fun and sort of addictive.
Sorry if you were offended...
Brother Woohoo

Jercatz -
You rock! We should get some like minded people together and start a new thread where people are not so offended by stupid stuff.
Thanks for the support and hope to see you at the local B&BW!
One more day to Halloween!

I can ensure you that Brother's comments were not meant to offend anyone. I am actually one of the 'twins' (his wife) he was referring to in his initial posting. The three of us (my twin sister, brother and myself) are all in love with B&BW products and have fun with it. We joke about suspending each other from the 'club' for fun. We have a competition as to who has the most inventory, who uses the most products, etc. Keep in mind that Brother is quite the jokester. He means no harm to anyone. Sometimes the lotions just get to his head! Blah
