I know I have Canary Island Banana & Vera Cruz Vanilla on my must sniff list. Yes I'm curious as to what forms these come in. I'm hoping there'll be votives so I can get these scents w/o having to spend too much $.

LMAO! When I saw the topic headline, I seriously thought it said "New York Yankee World Series Fragrances..." and then when I started reading the thread I was confused at first why it didn't have anything to do with baseball! Rotflol I guess I'm more tired than I thought! yawning

I did some browsing around on Ebay & saw some of the scents from the World collection listed. It looks like they'll only be available in 22 oz. jars. If that's the case, it'll be disappointing b/c I don't have any banana scented candles, but I'll get to save some $.

Brazilian Passion Fruit
New Zealand Wild Berry
Tahitian Tiare Flower
Vera Cruz Vanilla

Thanks for the links, Megan. I also love the labels on the jars.
I don't really like Yankee Candle candles, because I can hardly smell them when I burn them but I'll probably still get the banana candle if I think it smells good.Yes

I went to YC tonight to see these new fragrances.

*What I Smelled*
Vera Cruz Vanilla: This is a little more than just a regular vanilla. I'm thinking maybe it has a hint of caramel or brown sugar. This was my favorite of the group. Love

Canary Island Banana: This reminded me of banana fruitsicles sold at the gymnastics center I went to when I was little. It took some getting used to, but it was OK. Honestly I got this b/c it's about time that there was a banana candle scent.

Rose Of Morocco: This is a nice rose scent, not too overpowering. I liked it, but I don't know if I need a rose scent right now.

I smelled these all today, and I was not overly impressed. That's not to say that the scents weren't good, they just weren't spectacular.

I'd say my favorite was Mediterranean Cypress, followed by Rose of Morocco and New Zealand Wild Berry.
Tahitian Tiare Flower didn't smell like much of anything, suprisingly. Brazillian Passion Fruit was ok but forgettable. Canary Island Banana was a very realistic interpretation of a banana peel, but not the fruit itself. Vera Cruz Vanilla smelled a little raunchy to me, not good.

Becky, I agree about Vera Cruz Vanilla! I thought it was rank. Sick

None of them were great IMO, my favorite of the bunch was Canary Island Banana and even it wasn't good enough that I wanted to buy it.

I smelled these on Saturday, but haven't had a chance to post about them until today.

Vera Cruz Vanilla -- smelled exactly like liquid vanilla extract. Plenty of vanilla, but also plenty of alcohol. I can see how some would call this raunchy. Not for me.

Canary Island Banana -- nice, and pretty accurate. I liked it, but not enough to buy it. Could have been stronger.

Rose of Morocco -- probably my favorite of the bunch, but I am partial to anything rose. Pretty clean and accurate, but smelled pretty much like their everyday rose scent.

Mediterranean Cypress -- lovely, but just smelled like pine to me. Lighter than the holiday versions, though, which is nice.

Tahitian Tiare Flower -- I could hardly smell this, but it seemed perfumey and nondistinct.

New Zealand Wild Berry -- yummy and pleasant, but too close to so many other berry scents to be memorable.

Brazilian Passion Fruit -- pleasant, but nothing special.

Ciao!
Janelle

I went to the mall on Friday but forgot to go to the Yankee Candle store. I'm a little dissapointed to hear that the new scents aren't all that great, but then again my wallet's not complaining.Big Grin
