A Heart For The Animals

I came across an auction on Ebay that someone wrote that if the candle melted in transit during the the hot weather that they were not to be held responsible.

Is that true that candles melt in the hot weather? idunno I live in Georgia and it's already in the 90's here!

I purchased some candles from Ebay yesterday (not from the seller that I was speaking about above)- Yankee Candle and some Henri Bendel candles. I'm worried now thinking if they are goping to melt in transit, Frowner and I didn't insure them at all!

I LOVE MEERKATS!

I haven't heard of that before and I personally have left candles in the trunk of the car during a hot weekend and never have had an issue with them melting. However, soy-based candles have a tendency to "soften up" in the heat, but they still should burn ok.

The candles probably wouldn't melt all the way, however they could become soft enough so that the form is altered if something is pressing against them. If they are in a box, there should be no problem because they'll harden back up. I'd just make sure she's shipping priority mail so they get to you quickly!

One of my candles was actually ruined last week when I left it in the backseat of my car. Mad
I put a Yankee candle in Grandma's Apple Pie in the backseat and forgot about it until last week. It was sitting on its side, and all the wax had melted, swallowing up the wick and making it impossible to burn. Frowner
I can't believe I left it in there for so long.

Last year when we got the perfect autumn candles in the entire shipment was ruined because all the candles had melted from sitting in the delivery truck. I've noticed that candles will get a little layer of liquid on top for quite a while before the actually start melting. It's a hazard we deal with every day in texas.

I don't know about candles... But I do know that yesterday it was over 90 here and one of my room sprays apparently exploded out of the container from the pressure ?!? Now my whole bedroom smells unbearably like Perfect Autumn Pear...

LOL fortunately noone was home when it happened so I'm not sure exactly how loud it was etc. Basically all the spray got out of the can somehow and all over my candle box in the closet. I don't see any holes in the can but a lot of yucky goo around the piston. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Maybe the can of room spray was defective?

Ohhh...yikes! I have 2 room sprays that I keep in my car (Fresh Lemonade & Sugared Passionfruit).

It's been really hot here lately - temps in the '90s.

Maybe I ought to re-think keeping these in my car!!!
