I started a new thing this morning, mall walking. I'm gaining back some of the weight I lost a few months ago & figured it was time to get off my rump & do something about it. It's a really good way to walk. I don't have to worry about rain, heat or cold. One trip around the entire mall is 1 1/8 mile. I did 2.5 trips. I was told this was good for my first time. I'm going to try to do that + more after my first week. They also give prizes after walking so many miles. Gives you something to work for. I'm glad the mall isn't that far to drive or this wouldn't be possible because of gas prices. But, it's free to walk so it's better than paying for a gym membership. I'm going to try to go 3-4 times a week. It opens at 8 am so I'll probably try to be there between then & before they open so I won't be tempted to shop. lol

I think they might do me in lol. Too much temptation. Even if I did that before they opened, I would remember something maybe and do a little extra walking that day until the stores all opened

That's awesome, texgirl! I wish there was something like that here. I think Cindy's right, though. Most of us would be tempted to buy something anyway!

Maybe I can also use this as a test to stop compulsive shopping. I know that if I go before they open I won't hang around. That's just how I am. So, I'll be sure to get out of there before 9:45 so I won't be tempted.

Good for you texgirl! I doubt I would be able to do it. If I attempted at it, i'd be in great shape, but i'd be broke too

This is one of the reasons why I love going to the mall! I love being able to walk around, even if I don't buy anything. But more often than not, I do end up buying something.

Something else I did & will continue to do is park at the end of the lot, even though there are close spots & leave my purse in the trunk. That way, if I am tempted after walking I will have to walk way out to my car to retrieve money and also thinking about the purchase all the way there and how tired I already am.

My dad and I have started walking every morning on our road, take about 1 and 1/2 miles.

Good idea parking far away!! Extra calorie burn!

i went to the mail a couple of weeks back with my 2yr old and my friend from high school it was nice it just wore me out! i was so tired after we got done we were there almost 3hours but the 2yr old keep us busy which was cool! later all!
