Me: Curves. Every week I shoot for 3 days but only end up going 1-2. I've been going for over a year & need some motivation!! I like it, it just gets boring sometimes.

I work at a large university, so I have lots of access to incredibly facilities and fun classes, but I still have a hard time dragging myself to exercise. I love cardio kickboxing though! I also try to walk on my lunch hour.

I belonged to Curves before I moved here. I enjoyed the comaradery (sp.) of the members, but I, too, got bored.

I do 1 hour step classes 3-4 times a week and get on the elliptical 1-2 times a week. I do resistance training every other day and yoga 2 times a week. Abs after every step class for 15 minutes. The problem for me is food. I love it too much to pay attention to my portion sizes! Ha ha!

I thought I would revive the poor ol' Health Forum.Smiler

I just joined a total body aerobics class this month. It is three times a week for an hour-- we do aerobics, strength training, crunches, push-ups, etc. It is a 'Community Education' course so it was only $50 for about 4 months. It is held at an elementary school gym and there are about 35 ladies who go. I'm having a lot of fun so far-- there is a lot of joking and no one there is a serious gymrat so it is not intimidating.

I find that I do better working out when I join a class like this. Once I get in shape, I do better at working out on my own. However, I always eventually fall off the bandwagon if all I do is exercise alone. There is something about paying for a class (even a little) and having it held at only certain times that makes me go. If I joined a 24 hour gym, I would never go because I would keep procrastinating.

Also, I get in better shape with a group. You can't really stop or slow down with a bunch of people around you. I was a little leary of the 'aerobics' part at first though-- visions of silly '80s moves were in my head. Honestly though, the 'routines' really make you think and remember and so the time goes by fast.

In the summer, I like going hiking and swimming. I take my dog for long walks. I also do a water aerobics class at the pool (only $2 per session!). I'm such a cheapie! Razzer Right now I have about 20lbs I'd like to lose (again!). For some reason, my body likes this set weight. I keep coming back to it, but I never really go over. It is so weird. Roll Eyes

Ok, enough from me. What do others like to do for exercise?

I don't have a car, so I get to do a lot of walking. Plus, I have to walk up a lot of stairs b/c my apt. is on the 3rd floor. My favorite types of exercise are swimming and dance (esp. tap), but I don't really ever get to do those anymore.

ha ha wow funny you started this I just got back from the gym. I tried last year to do it by myself but I don't work as hard or as often. I too need the classes, I joined the new Ymca down the street they have new equipment and it's clean (so far) I've been doing a 45 min spinning class twice a wk and the treadmil and eliptacal thing other wise I know I should do some strength but I gotta take it slow for now. Keep it up Angel31! I got about 20 lbs to go to but i'm trying to think in sizes since I turned 25 I have been gaining almost a size a year. (was a 4 now and 8) sounds small but on a short petite person it looks huge.
Hey I saw this on a show recentley they had a sample of muscle about the size of a big giant grapfruit this was five pounds of muscle then they showed five pounds of fat it was enormous like a leg of lamb size or somthing that freaked me out apparently muscel has less volume so when you get older you lose muscle every year and what replaces it? big fat FAT. oh geezhhh i think that's my problem. Crap

I walk around campus and don't eat as much as I did last year. I also bought a Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease dvd on sale a while back ago. It was really fun, but it kicked my ass! I'll have to remember where I put it and try it again...

Love from Becky

I'm a very lazy person too. The only exercise I get is when I walk around inside in my house or if I have to go upstairs to my room or when I walk the dog. Other than that I'm really lazy. I have a car so that doesn't really help either. BUt it's ok, my metabolism is still high. I'll enjoy my figure for now Smiler

Aerobic striptease?? Interesting ...

I have a pretty active job. I'm on my feet all day, walking around the store, lifting heavy boxes, etc. When I have to get stuff from the lower shelves it feels like I am doing squats! At the end of the day I feel like I have had a workout.

Ciao!
