I think someone asked a ? about Signature Collection prices going up when Velvet Tuberose came out & we all thought it was b/c Velvet Tuberose was a little bit fancier.

Turns out Signature Collection prices have gone up 50 cents. Crap I noticed this when I saw the price tag on my Enchanted Orchid shower gel said $10. At least this price increase isn't as bad as some other companies & we get sales & coupons for the Signature Collection products.

Not all Sig. Coll. has gone up. Only the newly launced fragrences, ie Velvet Tuberose, Enchanted Orchid, etc. are higher. This is because they are designed by master perfumers and have MORE fragrence oil in them than regular/older sig. coll. products. More ingredients=more $. When I say master perfumers think--the people who designed Prada Amber, etc now work for us! Exciting!

This is borderline nasty, but (this is my opinion only!), I hate to think an expert came up with Velvet Tuberose.
OK, that's off my chest.
If more fragrance oils are being used, I understand. I could use more moisturization in the lotions & creams, myself.

I would be okay with a price increase, especially since it's only around .50 at a time. In all the years I've been shopping at BBW there haven't been that many price increases or I may not have noticed, and with the cost of everything going up, it'd definitely be justified.
I think BBW is still cheap, considering.Yes

I'm glad you got it off your chest, because you're definitely not alone there. I've never liked VT, and honestly think it's the worst scent they've come out with recently. I was hoping it would grow on me as some scents do over time, but I don't see that happening if it hasn't by now.

As for the price increase, it makes sense if it's true they're using more fragrance oils for newer scents. As long as the value of the coupons increased as well and they have (up to $11 value) then the change won't bother me as much. Then again, that also might be because I haven't found a new one (Chocate Amber, EO, and of course VT aren't favorites of mine) that I love enough for the increase to effect me. Hopefully they'll come up with something soon that I do love making the increase really worth it to me.

That's true too, especially when compared to TBS and a lot of other fragrance stores/collections out now.

VT is by far the most obnoxious scent BBW has come out with.
Sick

Considering what 1/2 oz of Pure Grace costs at Sephora..BBW's increase for the Signature Collection is chump change.

BBW still has the best deals with regarding to prices, coupons and specials. TBS has begun to compete with B1G1F body butters and special skin care deals.

BBW just has to come out with something different that smells good.

As much as I love BBW, I totally agree with that now, Jeff. Then again, TBS could use some new scents too...at least a new one that isn't a scent that BBW already has like JCB.

I agree that the price increase isnt bad at all. Considering the prices of Sephora, Philosophy, etc... I still believe you cant beat the price. Plus with the free coupons, I think its still quite the deal. Big Grin

I know and it does sound/look promising, so I hope I end up liking it regardless of the price increase. I also hope they put an end to the Cherry Blossoms though as we certainly don't need another after this one.

As tired as everyone is of all the blossom fragrances, magnolia and white cherry blossom continue to be two of the most requested fragrances we get -- along with sun-ripened raspberry and white tea and ginger. it seems so arbitrary which fragrances people will miss. i'm so tired of customers saying to me, "Why did you discontinue my favorite fragrance...blah blah blah"

I've only worked about 4 days since Christmas, but on each of those days, I've had people come up to me asking for all of those fragrances you just listed, edward. It's hard not to agree with them when they complain about newer stuff like VT smelling awful (less delicate language was used, but I won't subject you all to it here Wink ) and BBW's seemingly being hell-bent on DC'ing "everything people like."

its funny because it seems people only come out to say they like a fragrance when its on discontinued watch or gone. if it was that great or popular it would still be there, trust me. not to hurt anyone's feelings if they like certain fragrances or don't but seriously the stuff is tested pretty rigorously before and during its heydays and what sells is what stays end of story. i admit its frustrating but i'd rather have new stuff every few months than hang onto some of the oldies.

Even though they've been discontinuing quite a few of the scents this year that I've made it clear to have really liked, I'll agree that it's exciting to have new products and scents to look forward to trying so often. However, I find most of the floral scents they've been releasing since the end of last year (VT and so on...) to be too strong for me personally. So, I do hope some more fruity scents are on the way as well, even if it is true that the floral selection sells better.

I can't say if florals sell better or not. I think it's more about the fact that until recently our florals were not much to write home about imo. I may not like them all either but they are really pretty & complex.

Don't write off Blushing Cherry Blossom because of the lotion. The EDT is so pretty & there are apple & melon notes in it I think you'll like. If not, don't worry, there are new fragrances & limited editions galore to keep you interested through the rest of the year.
