Ok, please don't throw stones Smiler, but I have a major question about the older Classic products. Are these items that are kept in storage somewhere, or are they made special each year for the semi-annual sales?

The reason I ask is that some of the older ones, well most all of them, I had not heard of until this sale, and when I went to the sale today most of them smelled really off to me. Like they had been sitting around for way too long. I know that that is why there are different scents for everyone, but I just had to ask.

Ok, please be nice Fencing

They're made special when they're offered. I bet those scents just don't appeal to you. Maybe that's why they aren't in the everyday line-up. The classics may not be great sellers if kept on the shelves, but once off the shelves for too long they become highly in demand. Cool

I remember when strawberry lemonade came out originally. The SA said that it wasn't selling well. I loved it and still do! Love Same with cool watermelon... All my friends thought it smelled like a little girls lotion. That one isn't back as a classic but I just thought of that.

I know this may come as a shock, but I have only known about BBW for about 11 years. I know that doesn't sound like a long time to some and a long to to other's but until I got married and moved to the Little Rock area, there wasn't a BBW store in my area so all of this was new to me, so I didn't have the chance to experience a lot of the older scents. I was actually shocked to see the body splash in the Strawberry Lemonade today at one of the stores I was in. I didn't expect to see it at all. I did kind of like one of the coconut scents, but it turned on me.

I thought Strawberry Lemonade smelled a little off @ first, but I have started to warm up to it. Peach Nectar smelled kind of faint as a lotion, but smells really awesome as a shower gel. As far as Lemongrass Sage, that one smells a little bit too much like grass for my taste. I have been spoiled by TD Lemon Meringue & CO Bigelow Lemon. Flowering Herbs also smelled kinda grassy, but I'm sure I might go & smell it a few more times before the sale's over. Part of me wants to like it b/c the packaging's pretty.

I've heard lemongrass sage is a good mild mosquito repellant. Anyways, that's what I told my daughter (6) who got eaten alive the other night. I sprayed a bunch of splash all over her tonight & she was happy and the room smelled great - let's hope it works! Rotflol

To me the only scent that ALWAYS seems "off" to me is the coco cabana. Crap

I didn't even attempt to sniff this one at all this time.

I fell in love with the flowering herbs and I think that I might have to get another lotion & splash in this one.

I have only been into BBW for about 6 years, but you wouldn't know it, with all of the older scents I have accumulated over those years. There are only just a few scents now that I haven't tried.

I would love to try the wheatberry and the sugared maple someday. Love

I am a big fan of the C.O. Bigelow Lemon. I love the Body Cream. I am trying to decide if I am going to like the Green Tea & Cucumber scent or not. I like really clean scents, and I think that is one, but I have so much stuff already it is unreal. Between BBW and etailers I have enough for several other countries. Then, on top of all of this, I have my hubby hooked on the C.O. Bigelow Lemon Body Cream (because it doesn't smell girly) and on the men's shaving prodcuts. Needless to say, we stock up when that stuff goes on sale. Woohoo (sorry, I love all these iconsSmiler

See, I have never even heard of the Wheatberry or the Sugared Maple. That is how out of the loop I am on the older scents.

Now Sugared Maple sounds yummy! Yes I'm hoping that scent might return as a Classic or at least that there's a maple scent in the fall.

good questions..i really really miss the older sparkling grape and parfait lines from 2000, i think it was? i kept the spritzer bottles of the sparkling grape and strawberry swirl (the ones with the ice cubes in it), even after the splash was gone..sometimes i play with the ice cubes..nerdy, i know! ;p

Speaking of Green tea and cucumber, has anyone seen it at the sale? I've been to two bbws (including my own) and neither of us had it. I'm interested because I smelled the shower gel and hated it and wanted to see if the other products smell the same.

Sugared Maple sounds pretty good. I think I would just die if I ever saw Cool Watermelon come back.
Edward, I don't think I saw Green Tea & Cucumber in my area, either. Nor any Creamy Coconut except for a couple splashes. Strange.

Haven't seen any GT&C. I don't know what went wrong with Creamy Coconut. At my main store, they had splashes, no shower gel or lotion. At the next store they had shower gels, no lotion or splashes. That worked out for me because I had a lotion from the last sale that I have been saving. So I finally got a shower gel. Big Grin I guess some stores have different products arriving at different times. Or maybe they just have so much stuff in boxes that they just can't get through it all in the one night they have to set up.

I'm sure you know about that, right Edward? Smiler

I just won a lot off ebay that contained a Sugared Maple lotion. The scent is really nice, but not nearly as sweet as it sounds. It's more like a very subtly-sweet woodsy type scent, I think. I will have to smell it again when I get home to remember exactly.
