I went to a Lush store for the first time today. Cheerleader It was in the Macy's @ Mall Of America. I had no idea it was there so I was wow (literally) when I saw it. The one downside to it is that the products are out in the open emitting strong scents, so sometimes it might be hard to smell certain products individually.

The SA did a demo using the Lemony Flutter cuticle butter & Ocean Salt scrub on my hand. My hands were really soft after & Lemony Flutter smells really good. Yes I've also compiled some reviews of other products I had a chance to smell.

Flying Fox shower gel: It's a mix of honey & jasmine. I think I might like this one a little even though I really don't care for jasmine. The honey seems to temper it well. But I'm not so sure if I'd like it as much when I'm in the shower.

Sonic Death Monkey shower gel: It's a mix of chocolate & orange. It smells purely like chocolate at first, then the orange comes through. I wouldn't say that it's bad, but it's just not for me.

American Cream conditioner: This is a product I've actually been wanting to try. But it smelled kinda faint. It has vanilla in it, so I don't know if that's just my nose not perceiving the vanilla or whether the other products in the store kept me from smelling it.

Fever massage bar: This smelled quite decent. I think it has jasmine in it too.

Soft Coeur massage bar: Exactly the same scent as HIWTK. Love

Mange Too massage bar: It's a mix of honey & white chocolate. Love This is even better than Soft Coeur. I'm adding this to my wishlist.

Haagenbath bath bomb: Has a spearmint scent to it. It's not bad, but I try to avoid mint B&B items since my skin is sensitive to mint oils.

I figure if I end up getting any massage bars, I'll use them on my feet. Actually, I think my feet needed a massage after all the walking I did today.

I don't know how many Georgia girls we have here but there is a 2nd Lush store opening in GA at Perimeter Mall!!! Woohoo

I can't wait for this one to open because it's just down the street from my job. I think I'm in trouble.

I think I saw earlier about Lush opening @ Perimeter. I've also read on the Lush forum that there'll be a store in Macy's @ Lenox (in addition to the freestanding one already there). Yes I'm surprised they haven't tried putting one in @ the airport yet. The ATL stores are the ones closest to me, so I'm kinda excited that they're there now. But I kinda also wish they were around about this time last year. Razzer

I wish they had been here sooner too...I've spent more money that I care to think about on shipping for Lush. I hadn't heard about the one in Macy's at Lenox but I usually stay away from Lenox anyway because of the traffic in that area of town. Perimeter is just a quick run at lunch so I'm excited.

Some of you may know this by now, but Lush has their holiday items up. There's also some solid perfumes in select scents, all of which are permanent except for Champagne Snow Showers.

I think I may be interested in the HIWTK solid perfume. Yes But none of the actual holiday stuff appeals to me. I may make another Lush order before spring arrives...we shall see. winking

I didn't think the day would come but I may actually place an order on the LUSH website.
So far I'm thinking about perfume solids in HIWTK and American Dream, Soft Coeur and Christmas massage bar and Snow Cake soap.
If anyone has other recommendations, please post them.Smiler

Fryl, that looks like a good order. Yes I would say to add in a HIWTK soap for extra measure. Be forewarned that you have to cut the honeycomb off of it.

If you end up getting the solid perfumes, let me know how they are. Yes

I meant to post this last week but the days just keep flying by! I went to Lush last Friday (my local store got their holiday shipment last week!) and picked up just a couple of things.

Sea Vegetable soap - my personal favorite

Ooh La La soap - nice and lavender-y Love

House Guest soap (Holiday LE) - fruity and minty, with a little irridescent glitter

Snowcake soap (Holiday LE) - very light, creamy almond scent. I'm not sure it's worth all the hoopla, but it's nice.

Happy Hippy shower gel - extremely bright, fresh grapefruit scent - right up my alley Smiler

Love Lettuce face mask (free with purchase) - haven't tried yet, but the SA recommended it because it's slightly scrubby and is supposed to draw out impurities

I can't believe I'm actually using bar soaps, but they're so nice!! Thumbsup

EDIT to add: Megan, I heard that Gratuitous Violets is discontinued -- I'm sure you've stocked up, but if you're still working on it, my store has 3-1/2 full blocks left, and I could grab some for you.

Ciao!

Janelle, that offer sounds tempting, but I think I am going to have to pass. I have 10 bars of GV plus some other soaps.

I hope you enjoy your recent purchases. Yes Snowcake does smell good on cold sniff & I really wanted to be addicted to it, but I didn't like how it smelled upon lather. Frowner I guess it's good for my wallet that things turned out that way.

Thanks for the recommendation, Megan. Unfortunately, I had already placed my order when I read your post. Actually, I completely forgot about it until I received an e-mail from LUSH this morning that my order is ready to be shipped out.Banana
I ended up getting the perfume solids in American Cream and HIWTK, massage bars in Christmas and Soft Coeur, soaps in Snow Cake and Mange Too.Smiler
I'll review the items once I receive them.Smiler

I picked up the HIWTK solid perfume last weekend and have worn it twice this week. I'm actually very impressed with the lasing power. I can smell it on myself all day (although I usually touch it up around lunch time). I use the soft coeur massage bar as my 'lotion' on those days and with the solid perfume the combo is the bomb !

Hmm, I think I deleted an earlier post by accident.Bonk

Anyway, I got my LUSH order today.
A couple of things went wrong, I got sent a HIWTK soap instead of perfume solid.
They also refunded the total amount of my order a few days after I had placed the order.
I called the LUSH customer service, and am being sent solid perfume, and I can keep the soap.Banana
As for the refund, they don't know why that happened, it appears as though the order had been cancelled. Maybe I'll get recharged for the order, the person on the phone couldn't tell.idunno

I will most certainly never become a Lushie, but I am very pleased with my everything I ordered.Yes
I never liked going into a LUSH store, because I'd always have to sneeze and get a terrible headache. Most scents are too earthy, herbal, spicy for me, but I made excellent scent choices even if I say so myself.Big Grin Razzer
My favourite is the American Cream solid perfume. Love
The solid is tiny, but it should last a long time.
All the scents are hard to describe so I won't even try, but they do have the distinct Lush store smell to me.
I received a free massage bar tin (because I ordered 2), and Almond Butter Buttercream and Heavenly Bodies Buttercream samples.

To make up for the lack of any helpful reviews I took a picture of my haul.Big Grin

Fryl, that order looks really good. Yes It kinda sucks that you got the wrong HIWTK item, but at least they're correcting it now. I also wonder if the issue w/ charging cards might have had to do anything w/ the identity theft you had happen earlier in the week.

I also agree that a lot of scents are too earthy. But there are some scents I've come across that I can't find anywhere else. Love

I forgot to post an update on my LUSH situation.
I called LUSH about the refund of my order, and it seems that it was cancelled from their end the same day the order was placed. They don't know if it was a glitch, but in any event, they (can't and) won't be charging me again for the order, so I was told to just enjoy the items. How nice!! Thumbsup

I received my Lush order today.Mail
I don't think I am as in love with the Snowcake solid perfume when sniffed out of its container as to when it's applied. I love the almond note.Love
I got a Rock Star soap and Whoosh Shower Jellie sample with my order. I like the scent of the soap, but the Jellie smells like a lemon cough drop.

I got my Snowcake solid perfume order & I have to agree w/ Fryl's review. It smells better on skin than it does in the container. Yes It also smells exactly like the soap, which is good for me, since I've heard other reviews that it was too "waxy". I plan on wearing this tonight.

*Other Products I Received*
Gentle Lentil solid shampoo: Sweet vanilla milky scent! Love I will be trying this one out once I'm done using my current shampoo & will have a more complete review later.

Ne Worry Pas bath bomb: The photo for this one looks misleading. Due to the lighting, I always thought it was a light purple color. But it turns out that it's plain white. The blue metallic area is the same color, but it contains glitter. Crap It does have a violet scent & is closer to the Gratuitous Violets scent. Although the scent is nice, I won't be using this b/c of the glitter.

Alkmaar soap (received as sample): The label says that this is a jasmine vanilla scent. I'm not a big fan of jasmines, but I have to say that this is actually somewhat nice. I do detect somewhat of a jasmine smell to it & it tempers it nicely. I will be trying this out in the bath & will have a more complete review later.

I will probably be making an order sometime before the spring. I'm curious about other solid perfumes & I still want to try the American Cream conditioner. I've also heard that Lush is introducing Lily Savon soap at the beginning of the year & I'm a little bit curious as to what that smells like.

Fryl, do you select what samples you want in the comment box or are they randomly selected for you? Too bad that you didn't like Whoosh. If I was into shower jellies, I would've offered to take that off your hands b/c it smells like fresh limes to me. Yes

Megan, I've left the comment box blank both times I ordered. I just leave it up to them, that way I get to try different things because knowing myself I'd request scents I already know and/ or I like.Smiler

I think I have two more samples that came with my HIWTK solid perfume. I don't even know what they are, and may have thrown them out by accident. Bonk

I think my husband will use the Whoosh Jellie sample. He likes citrus scents.Smiler

I'm kind of surprised at the way they package their soaps. Kind of looks like the way they wrap and label cheese at the deli. Some of the scents sound really nice but the packaging of the soaps would be a turnoff for me. I tend to judge body product "books" by their "covers" too much. Bonk
