I did some shopping at Waldenbooks tonight. I got the new Lauren Weisberger book, Chasing Harry Winston, for 40% off w/ my Borders Rewards card. I picked up another book called Shoe Addicts Anonymous. I'll review them when I'm done reading, which will probably be soon, given that I'm a voracious reader.

I bought a really nice suit at Banana Republic today for about $90.
I got charged twice as much though, and I only realized it when I got home. I usually check my receipts before leaving the store, but I was in a hurry, and not really thinking, I suppose.
I called the store, and as a one-time courtesy they refunded my money by looking up my transaction, so I didn't have to drive all the way back. Yay for great customer service.

I also got a new terry cloth bathrobe at Restoration Hardware to replace my crappy VS one.

Fryl, that is great that they did that for you over the phone. I have to agree with you, Yay for great CS. I wish more companies were like that.

Megan, I really like that one song Rihanna has out where she starts out saying "you look so stupid right now". LOL You already know what type of song it's gonna be. She has a great voice though and she is very pretty.

I needed a little retail therapy today. I had to take my dog (Gizmo) to the vet yesterday. I found a couple lumps on her side. The vet told us yesterday that it doesnt look good, her stomach is quite swollen. He drew blood, and tested it. He called today and told us she has liver cancer. I already expected the worst, he did warn us yesterday that he thought it was cancer. I pretty much cried most of the day yesterday. You just become so attached to them. She is definitely part of our family, and I cant imagine not having her with us. She really is a great companion, she just turned 10 in June. The good news is the Dr. said her kidney function is 100%, and he said he was shocked by that. As of now she doesnt seem to be in any pain, she is still eating great, and is as happy as ever to see us. She still wags her tail when we are home. We just know what is coming, and it gives us a little more time to love and spoil her. As of now we arent going to do anything but monitor her closely, and when she doesnt want to eat or go to the bathroom, we know its time. We are going to the vets tomorrow to discuss all the options we have. So needless to say this hasnt been the best couple of days and I needed to buy something.

They also had a perfume on the counter that I sprayed, and absolutely loved. I am now kicking myself because I wasnt thinking and didnt get the name of it. I know it was blueish, I looked online and they have 2 different ones that are blueish. I think I will be going back tomorrow and getting it. We went to a picnic this afternoon, and I had 2 compliments on how good I smelled. Of course I was more mad that I didnt get the name.

I can't even imagine how you must be feeling right now; our pets are like our babies.
I am happy to hear that she doesn't seem to be in any pain, and that she's in good spirits. It must be so painful but I know you'll do what's best for her.

Gizmo, my heart goes out to you!! Just as you said, we get so attached to our furry babies! I just went through a similar experience about a month ago. My dog who is almost 12 yrs old had a large lump on his neck. Of course all my research pointed to cancer. Well $500 and 2 days later, it turned out to be some type of bacterial infection, thank God. But I was so scared.

Hang in there and enjoy Gizmo while she remains in good health. Spoil her as much as you can. They do have some options like chemo, and I'm sure your vet will talk to you about it. Whatever happens, I'll keep you and Gizmo in my thoughts and prayers!!

Sometimes I am ok and other times I am not, which I am sure is normal. The vet told us that a normal liver count is between 3-19 Gizmos count was 600, which he said he has never seen a count that high. So pretty much that eliminates any options. He said surgery wouldnt really be an option, because the end result would be the same. To me there really isnt any need to put her through all that then. I made a list of numerous questions to call and ask him on Monday, just so I can be prepared for whats to come. Hopefully he can give an estimated time frame for us. Again I thank you both very much for your kindness.

My husband went to MAC today and bought me that perfume. It is called Turquatic, I really do love the way it smells.

I ended up going to Books-A-Million tonight & got yet another book: Secrets Of A Shoe Addict.

Gizmo, sorry to hear your dog is in bad health. I'm sure you'll make her as comfortable as possible during this time.

Thank you anemone very much. That is very sweet of you!!! So far she is doing the same, which is pretty good. I talked to the vet, and he said I could pick up painkillers for her. He also said the first thing that will happen is she will turn jaundice, especially on her gums and belly. That means her liver has pretty much stopped working. He said shortly after that she will stop eating anything. Especially treats or anything she really likes. Thats when we will know its time.
