The big news is that today is the spring reopening of Wylde Ivy. The site had been closed for a month to restock & get ready for spring/summer launches. But they were accepting orders during that time, but wouldn't get started on packing & shipping until today.

Anyway, I decided to order here b/c some of their soaps looked nice. Yes All of the soaps are fairly priced for $5 each & shipping for just 3 soaps was only $4.

They were scheduled to open @ 3 PM Eastern time, but had a lot of new products up on the website before then. I placed my order an hr. before it officially opened & I'm glad it did. I wanted to get some Almond Honey Cookie soap before everyone else b/c it's the Scent Of The Month. Razzer

If you want to take a look at the products, here's the website: Wylde Ivy

I got my order today! Cheerleader

My order:
Chocolate Fatale Soap
Raspberry Lemonade Soap
Almond Honey Cookie Soap

I got samples of:
Beachin Berries Soap
Pink Pearl Soap

Now for the review. Yes

Chocolate Fatale: This does smell like chocolate, but a little bit soapy smelling too. It's only OK, but I can work with it.

Raspberry Lemonade: This smells exactly like pink lemonade & like IOE's version of Raspberry Lemonade. Let's just say that I am in Love w/ this soap & would consider repurchasing it in the future if I needed to.

Almond Honey Cookie: This one smells good. I can smell distinct almond notes & honey notes.

Beachin Berries: This one was a little bit grapey for me. Crap So I think I'll end up passing this on to someone else.

Pink Pearl: This one was a fruity floral. There's something about it that smells a little bit like hotel soap. It's not something I'd pick, but it's only a sample, so I'll work w/ it.

Megan, the chocolate fatale soap smells soapy? Smiler Just teasing, I think I know what you mean. Maybe too much soap, not enough chocolate?

They do look yummy, though. I am lovin the Raspberry Lemonade. Looks almost good enough to eat!

Make Mine a Mocha Olive Oil Soap - Review:

I sliced a finger sized wedge of Wylde Ivy's 'Make Mine a Mocha' soap today and I must say that although it's definitely pleasant and is quite true to its name upon cold sniff, upon lather it doesn't smell like much of anything but soap Rotflol.

I am thinking that this might be the pattern with their chocolate scents based on Megan's review of 'Chocolate Fatale' Yes idunno.

Upon cold sniff it smells like it's description: Rich dark chocolate with a sharp hint of espresso. I'd go so much as to say that you can even smell the whipped cream and cocoa powder sitting atop this concoction. It also looks great...and rightfully depicts a Mocha Latte type drink in all of it's layers (the base being a rich dark brown and the top mocha layer being a light beige). The top of the soap looks like foam or whipped cream generously sprinkled with cocoa powder.
Unfortunately...this is where the likeness ends Frowner.

Upon lather, although you catch a faint whiff of the chocolate, mocha, and espresso...this lasts for mere minutes and quickly fades. The intended scent does not linger on the skin at all but does leave a nice "just washed" aroma that is of course what you'd expect of all soaps. All in all...it's okay. Not great, not incredible, just okay Smiler.
It isn't incredibly moisturizing but it does so just enough to be quite decent.

At the end of the day, this particular soap is good...but not something I'd necessarily repurchase.

Wylde Ivy definitely has other winners out there...some that are absolutely delicious Love Love Love.

Kimmer, I actually wanted to try the Make Mine A Mocha soap, but never got around to it. I'm thinking there's a trend w/ chocolate soaps in general is that it's easy to smell the soap base. I've had the same thing happen w/ both my Chocolate Fatale soap & Gianna Rose Atelier Spiced Aztec Chocolate soap. So, this means that I'd probably be wary of buying chocolate scented soaps in the future.

Megan, I am glad that I could provide you with a review and am hoping it helps you even in the slightest Yes Thumbsup.

About 'Make Mine a Mocha', I honestly wouldn't recommend this unless what I've described above appeals to you (you being a general term). Upon second sniff I have to add to what I've mentioned previously by emphasizing that although the cold sniff is somewhat accurate, it is also very very faint. You're not really getting any bang for your buck so to speak and I am sure interest would be put to best use elsewhere.
This isn't an incredible find, it isn't even a great find, it's just okay Yes.

My preference is that the soap smells accurate both upon cold sniff and during lather (in the shower), and that I don't have to try hard too hard to catch its scent. It's a good soap but there are "good soaps" all over the place...bottom line, it's nothing "special".

Their Blackberry Cotton Candy soap on the other hand is absolutely wonderful Love. I'll review that next (shortly) Big Grin.

I tried my Pink Pearl soap sample out today. shower While in use, the soap smell was nice, but wasn't all that much in strength. The strong point of this soap is that it didn't melt all that much. Overall, I think it's OK, but it's not something that I'd repurchase.

I received the May newsletter in my e-mail today. New stuff is coming on 5/7.

It says there'll be solid shampoos & conditioners in Coconut & solid conditioners in Tuscan Garden.

Also, there's going to be 2 scents of the month. One's going to be "bubbly" & the other's going to be "creamy". I'm curious to see if I'll like them.

There's also going to be a Violet soap, but I might end up passing on it b/c they showed a picture of a soap which I think might be it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as pretty as another violet soap I like.

The new stuff is out. The scents of the month are Creamy Coconut & Lime Fizz. Both were previously available as a soap, but during this month, they'll be available in lotions, mists, etc.

The violet soap in the picture is Violetta. As a violet fan, I was a little bit disturbed when I read the scent description for that one. Crap It has bergamot & musk in it in addition to the violet.

Also, they'll be closed on 5/16, 5/28, & 6/4-6/18.

I don't think I'll be ordering this month, but I'll probably make another order once I find something that's more my interest.

I received my WI order in the mail today.

Goodies:
Lime Margarita Soap
Summer Fling Soap

Samples:
Honey Bee Good Lotion
Spa Blend Soap

Now time for a review of the goodies.

Lime Margarita: This smells like an accurate margarita scent! Love The only part I don't like is the white bits on top, so I've removed them. However, I'll consider repurchasing it in the future.

Summer Fling: All I smell is summer florals & peaches. I don't get raspberry from this. It's nice, but it's not quite love.

Spa Blend: This one was kinda faint. It's not something that I'd purchase in full size, but it's not atrocious. Since this is just a sample, I'll probably end up using this for 2 baths or so.

The Honey Bee Good lotion sample is in a packet. I won't be using it, so I won't be getting to sniff it. I'll most likely be passing this along to someone else.
