Ok, sort of an embarrassing problem, but whatever. Here it is:
I'm student teaching at a school with no AC!!! I spent 2 hours in the classroom yesterday, and well, it was quite evident that my deodorant doesn't fare well in a major "need extra protection" situation. Anyone with ANY ideas or suggestions, please let me know. I bought one today-can't remember the name of it. The one I have been using is a Suave one. Those actually DO work good when you don't need extra backup. Thanks folks for helping me out in advance Smiler

arrid extra extra dry works great for me!!! I have overactive sweat glands under my arms so I need the extra protection. But don't use it on normal days it'll dry you out really bad.

I use the Secret Sparkle body sprays as deodorant. Peach Shimmer is the one that I'm currently using, but I also have Moonlit Rose & Vanilla Sparkle. I did have the Moonlit Rose & Violet Dazzle deodorants in the Secret Sparkle collection before that & they fared well. I wish Secret would make Violet Dazzle into a body spray.

And what's up w/ making kids go to school in mid Aug. when there's no AC in the classroom?

OMG, you poor girl! I would be so miserable. I'm very hot natured and can't stand heat or humidity. I keep the house on 68* 24 hours a day during the summer.

I get very hot at work because I do a lot of lifting & moving around in the morning. The best deodorant I've found is: Dove Ultimate Clear - Radiant Silk

It really holds up for me. I also have a stick of Secret Vanilla Sparkle that I use on my days off. I tried using it for work, and it just isn't good enough.

The sprays and gels don't work as well for me, so I use roll-ons and the solids. I have been using Secret Platinum with Olay conditioners for quite awhile and am very satisfied with it.
Good luck finding a deodorant that works for you. Smiler

I think the best advice is to get an anti-perspirant/deoderant. Try the Mens versions-They may smell guy-ish, but they work. Any type of solid-stick (white in color, doesn't mean its gonna make you white)There is an Old Spice one, its red packaging, i think. I have a friend who has very sweaty problems, and she swears by the men stuff.

Oooh I was so excited to see so many responses! I'm making a list of these and I'm gonna try some out. Thanks so much! grouphug

Megan, a lot of the schools around here have already gone back! Mine starts the 28. The kids are allowed to have water and lots of drink breaks and if it is too extreme, they will cancel class early and send 'em home. I don't look forward to already being a little nervous and then perspiring even more b/c of no A/C. drop

As suggested by TDJunkie, I also use Dove brand, but the one I use is Invisible Solid Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant. I have used this for years now and it has always worked better than any other deodorant for me. When I was younger I used to have a very bad sweating problem and had to use a prescription deodorant. This is the only one that has done the trick since then, and I have tried many including Suave, Secret and Speed Stick. Good luck!

I used to just use regular Secret when I first started wearing deodorant, and it worked fine for me. When I turned 17 a major sweating problem developed under my arms. I switched to Dove, which was fairly new, and that made me sweat worse. Janelle told me about Secret Platinum Protection, and I've never looked back.

If you need something really, REALLY strong, grab some Lady Mitchum clear. It will beat your sweat glands into submission and leave no survivors. I would not use the stuff on a normal (air-conditioned) day, but it's great for occasional use or extra sweaty situations.
For daily use I either use Secret Platinum Protection or Dove Ultimate Clear, but I wouldn't trust them in your situation, Anan.

Ciao!

Do you use unscented Suave deodorant? If so, have you tried the scented kind yet? I always used the raspberry one at band camp and it always worked for me. Then again, it could be differences in body chemistry.

Dove makes awesome deodorant. I received a free sample last year for signing up on their site. Maybe you could do that?

Good luck! shower

the best deodorant EVER is of the brand body series, sold by catalog. I live in a conuntry where we only have two seasons: summer and hell, plus im overweight and that is the best deodorant I have ever used, you could go for days without taking a shower with that one (yak, disgusting, but true) my husband loves it too, and if it is strong enough for a man on this weather it sure will work for you.

Alina,

I've tried the deodorant you mentioned. It's great and can be purchased from any Amway distributor.
Love

I know there are only two guys on the board, however, I like Axe solid antiperspirant/deodorant.

I think women could use it with excellent results.

It worked extremely well during the awful heat spell we had and does not stain clothing. Axe is always on sale too, which is a good deal.

For major sweat (I would perspire in sweaters in the dead of winter, ew.) try Certain Dri, which is available at most drugstores. It is too strong for some people, but I've been using it for years, with no pit stains!
