Do any of you have any recommendation for a face cream for sensitive, dry skin that tends to get red from cold or sun-exposure?

Under $20 would be a plus since I'm a college student. Smiler

Right now I'm using a Dove night cream that is really nice. I think it's called Dove Radiance, but I've used the Essential Nutrients one as well. They are pretty basic, but they get the job done for my 20-something skin. Also, they don't irritate my skin or make me break out.

I definately understand being on a budget! I was REALLY broke a few months ago, so I bought this when I was looking for absolute cheapest night cream at the drugstore. I'll probably buy it again, though, I really like it.

i really like avon, its good to get sample
of things too, so that way you dont but a full size of something and then dont like it.
my face is very pale and has its good days, but combination and in the winter stinks.
i liked the naturals line for face, but i think
they d coded, discontinued.
neutrogena works well too.

Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana hand creme. I've been using it on my face for months now, and I absolutely love it. I also have dry/sensitive skin, so I have to be careful what I put on my skin, but Burt's is over 90% natural, so there's less chance that your skin will have a reaction.

Becky-- you are so creative! First, Lip Smackers for eye-shadow, and now hand creme for face creme! I'm going to have to try some of these things!

Does the hand creme have much of a smell? How do you think it would be for breakout-prone skin? I don't have oily skin; it just tends to react to a lot of things.

Thanks Angel! Flower It does smell like bananas, so if that's not your thing then I'd stay away from it. My skin usually gets really red and blotchy (esp. just out of the shower), but I put on the hand creme and it calms my skin right down. My nose is really oily, so I don't put it on there, but everywhere else on my face gets some!

My friend has the same skin type too, dry skin that gets red in the sun. She uses Neutrogena and said that it works well. I think it was called Healthy Skin lotion and it has spf in it.

Try Cetaphil. It moisturizes your skin and doesn't have any perfumes. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine who is a dermatologist, because I have very dry skin.

Cetaphil is really good for sensitive skin. I have never tried their moisturizer but the facial cleanser is great. It is so gentle and it doesn't dry out your skin. I wouldn't recommend the cleanser if you wear a lot of makeup because it's horrible at taking off makeup but it's great for lazy days or early in the morning when you are in a hurry and need a quick washing Smiler

I read about this new site www.dailycandy.com in the paper today and they have tips about shopping, sample sales, etc. and you can have emails sent to you about deals, etc.

I read that the Number 1 beauty secret for one of the best facial moisturizers, is A & D Diaper Rash Cream that you can get at any drugstore for about $6. Eeker

Comments? Coffee

Ew! Really??? Eeker..I got a big old tub sitting on my baby's changing table right now! It's so gloopy and greasy, I feel like it would clog pores. Hmmm...I am too scared to try that!

I've had a chance to try some good sensitive skin moisturizers sice
winter. I really like the Aveeno Positively Calming lotion with SPF 15
for daytime. It's never made me break out, and has kept my face looking
nice and pale, and not red like it usually gets in summer (yeah, I can't
tan) - not sure if that's from the herbal ingredients or just from the
sunscreen. All-natural ones like Kiss My Face and Desert Beauty were
also good in my experience although they felt a bit heavy on the face. I
think I'll buy the Aveeno Positively Calming night cream come fall when I
will start needing more moisturizing again.

I wouldn't dare to try the diaper rash cream all over the face. BUT -
the active ingredient in most of those creams is zinc oxide, and I have
found zinc oxide cream to be the most effective spot treatment for
occasional breakouts. So who knows?

I highly recommend Origins for ANY type of skin.

The Liquid Crystal, Comforting Solution and Constant Comforter are great. Also Night a Mins.
These are all for sensitive skin.

You can check their website for further details on specific skin care needs, such as dry or aging.

After fooling around with various brands, I returned to using Origins as it is medium priced and works. And you do not have to 'counter hop'.
Love

Found the Burt's Bees Royal Jelly eye cream to be a good deal at $15 which is approximately $12 less than Origins and lasts longer.

It's been a loooong time since I have had the diaper rash cream in my house. Thumbsup

But I remember that it smelled horrible didn't it? Sick

Even for $6 I don't think I would want to use it, but if it works for someone else? idunno
