This may sound like a dumb question, but I was wondering if any of you had heard of any tactics to reduce the appearance of bruises. I have some bruises on my right leg that aren't looking very attractive & I'd like them to go away.

Any advice?

Hey megan i actually heard that arnica helps quickly reduce the appearance of bruises. i think it was in lucky magazine that i read that. the magazine specifically mentioned kneipp's arnica spray (which is carried at flagships). i think arnica increaes the circulation which helps get rid of the congested blood or something like that -- might be worth checking out.

excercise does it for me, i find it helps the blood slowly move back into the bloodstream.

I got the Kneipp Arnica cream today. I was originally considering the spray, but I think the cream would be a better option for me. It was $20 for a 3.4 oz. tube, which is a little on the expensive side. But if it gets rid of the ugly bruises currently on my legs, then it's worth it. I'm going to start using it 2 times a day, starting tonight & will post my results about a week later.

I love Kneipp products.Yes I also have the Arnica cream, I use it for sore muscles, and it works instantly on me.
Megan, from time to time TJMaxx has Kneipp products. I got two large tubes of Arnica cream there once for only $7.99 each so you may want to check there next time.Smiler

I have heard all great things about Kneipp Arnica cream, even when it comes to cracked heals (for a friend who recently visited from FL - she NEVER wears shoes.)

Good luck and keep us posted. Smiler

I agree with the exercise too. boxer
A few years ago I was able to lap-swim over a mile several times a week, but now my body doesn't have the stamina Sick for much exercise at all.
What a difference there is when it come to healing... rant

I got this in an e-mail so not sure if it really works or not, its all home remedies with household items.
Vinegar to heal bruises.
Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar and apply it to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness and speeds up the healing process.

Well, I've been using my Arnica cream for a week now and I've started to see some results. The dark purple bruise I had on my leg last week has faded a lot. You can still see the outline of it, but it's now more of a light tan shade, just a little bit darker than my skin tone. So I will continue to use this. Yes

i'm so glad the cream is working for you, megan. i got in the habit of using the arnica spray on insect bites because it cools and tingles and makes the itching go away. yet another use for arnica.

Being on 'coumadin', which is a anti-coagulant, I've become the 'bruise king'.

Have been putting a slice of raw potato on my collection of bruises. It works sort of because the potassium in the potato makes the bruises go away.
