Jeff, don't forget to check out at the cosmetics counter and ask for the $3 discount. It would be a sin to pay full price! Big Grin

Thanks for the tip, Fryl. Smiler

You can always count on Walgreen's for having good deals. I did pick up the Alpha Hydroxy.
I must remember NOT to use it in conjunction with the Clinique Turnaround, Wexler or some Arden stuff I got from my EA schatzi. Mixing alpha, glycolic, and other chemmiez can cause one's face to become another 3 Mile Island meltdown.
Always remember to read labels and not mix certain exfoliants/resurfacers together. Otherwise you will have a little 'bubble and squeak going on, on your face. Like mixing Comet with ammonia.
Toxic Product of the Month..drum roll..Avon Anew Alternative. Don't let that cocoa smell fool ya. Would you put Easy Off oven cleaner on your face?

The Alpha Hydrox Souffle is the best thing that I bought for my skin ever. It instantly softens and smooths your skin. I take hot showers at least twice or three times a day, so my skin get flaky from being so dry, but the AHS takes care of that as soon as you put it on.
I use it in the morning and moisturize with my normal Shiseido stuff. In the evening I use the Olay Regenerist night moisturizing cream. In between I use my other Olay Regenerist products, which in my opinion are excellent. From now on, no more expensive crap!!

As I run out of expensive stuff, I am trading down (well not really) for more reasonable prices.
Pola is even more expensive than Shiseido and really saw no difference.
The only product I can't do without is Origins Perfect World and got that on eBay. Am reading labels for primer type products that protect the skin with dimethicone (silicone). It's just a barrier that smoothes the skin and reduces pores
Maybe WD40 (just kidding altho it is silicone).

Have you tried Dermalogica Barrier Repair? It feels like silk on my skin, and I'm pretty sure it's a silicone product as well.

I looked it up Tutti, it is a Silicone based product. I may have to try it out too. At what store did you get it? I'd like to test it out first Smiler

I bought it from a salon last year after I had a facial done there. I have been tearing the house apart for the last month trying to find it though, it has mysteriously disappeared. Curse It was around $35, so that makes me even madder that it's lost. It has to be around here somewhere, and if I ever find it, I will send you a sample! Flower

Gee thanks Tutti. Sorry you can't find it. I hate when that happens, and it happens to me all the time. I am very chaotic and very organized at the same time. Does that make sense?!? Confused

That completely makes sense! Good news, you may be able to find it locally. I have a coupon for Trade Secret (I love that store!), and on the back... it said the coupon was not eligible for purchasing Dermalogica products. So maybe they have the Barrier Repair? I've never noticed Dermalogica in there, but I guess they do have it. I am so frustrated that I can't find it. Curse

It so happens that I am planning to go to a mall that has a Trade Secret store. I have never visited one before, so I'll definitely make a point to go there this time. Smiler

Trade Secret rocks! They have a body drench lotion that's great, in a few different scents.

I can't wait to go now. I hardly ever go to that mall, but I remember walking passed Trade Secret thinking that it was one of those Avon type stores so I didn't have any interest in walking in, because I was on a mission to find some good deals at VS and BBW. Big Grin

I have finally stared using a daily moisturizer for my face. I don't have dry skin except for a spot or two, but now if I forget to put it on in the morning, my skin feels dry to me by the end of the day! I've been using Clean & Clear Morning Glow. I picked that one because it was inexpensive, so if I ended up not using it I woulnd't be out a lot of money, and it has sunscreen, which is a necessity for me. It has really made my skin feel much softer and smoother! And no breakouts from it, which is what I was really worried about. I'm very happy! Thumbsup

Ciao!

After I have been hearing Fryl and Jeff rave about Alpha hydrox.....I got some!!!!
I just put it on for the first time right now...we will see if it works for me. I bought the souffle.
Question!....do I use moisturizer over top of the souffle or just by itself..i have combo skin and use origins modern friction 3 times a week.
How often should I be using this souffle....am or am and pm? thanks

First of all, the makers of Alpha Hydrox should send Fryl a tote, thermos, coffee mug, computer mouse pad..along with several shares of stock.
Coffee

Myself, I have to put something over it. For combo skin, I'd recommend Clinique DDM GEL.
Maybe you could get a sample from one of the Clinique ladies. Since Alpha Hydrox kicks royal butt over Clinique Total Turnaround and is much less expensive you need some moisture.

Clinique used to be a 3 step program. Now it's nearing a 12 step program, literally and figuratively. When I worked for them it was 3 Step, then Stop (signs for aging),
Turnaround (lotion or cream) and Lift ( Anti Gravity Firming lotion or cream). Since then things have gotten more complex. Too much work now with several new steps and more bucks.

I'd use the Alpha Hydrox (myself) only in the PM only. I don't care what Clinique says..if you use an exfoliating product in the AM under makeup, it's gonna flake and oxidize (get schmeary and schlumpy). The Alpha Hydrox should ideally be applied to clean skin. Clinique tells you to apply their version on top of the 3 step, which defeats its purpose. Theoretically the original DDML which most people use will form a barrier over the skin and the alpha hydrox will not work. Clinique uses salycylic acid which is kind of like an alpha hydrox.

Modern Friction 3 times a week is wayyyyyyyyy too much. It's gonna strip dry to normal skin and cause oil rebound on combo to oily skin as the dermis sends oil to the surface.

Got it? Good. <w>

Only people who are 'certifiably crazy' like me can get away with using the 99 cent Walgreen's Refreshing Aloe lotion on top of anything and fear no evil.

TMI? Nope. Strictly the fact m'am.

You noes I am really trying to get away from wiping butts and having ppl spit things at me.
So, I am going to be the best skin care expert around so maybe someone will hire me.
