I went to see Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past this weekend. It was actually better than I was expecting.
I also saw some trailers for some movies I'll be interested in seeing late summer/early fall. Those would be Julie & Julia and Fame. |

I saw Paul Blart Mall Cop last night. It was definitely not as funny as I'd hoped.

I saw Night At The Museum 2 a couple of wks. ago. It was good, but I still enjoyed the 1st one better. While I enjoyed Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart, I didn't like that (*spoiler alert...scroll over text*) they tried to force a romantic connection between her & Ben Stiller.
The last movie I saw was My Life In Ruins. It was very funny & was an enjoyable chick flick. |

I saw The Hangover last weekend and it was absolutely hilarious! I loved it!
I still really want to see Up, hopefully in 3D. |

Here's what I've seen recently.
The Proposal: It tried, but it wasn't that great. The movie studios need to stop casting Ryan Reynolds as a lead in romantic comedies. I didn't buy any chemistry between him & Sandra Bullock at all. My Sister's Keeper: Meh. This one dragged on too long. And I've heard there are *major* differences between the movie & the book. Public Enemies: I ended up liking this one. It was quite an interesting story. My only criticism is that I wish studios would stop casting Christian Bale in the "hero" role. It always makes me want to root for the bad guy. |

I watched Knowing. I thought it was pretty good, I enjoyed Nicholas Cage in it.
I also saw Push. I didn't think I would like this much but I actually enjoyed it. We have seriously watched Dakota Fanning grow up before our eyes. Night at the Museum 2 was ok, but definitely not as good as the first one. I was afraid of that since it happens often. It was worth a watch though if you were a fan of the first one. *********************************************** Scent your world at http://www.theperfectscents.com Say Hello Tomorrow with Avon at http://dperine.avonrepresentative.com |

My DD and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince today. It was very good! I love the actor who plays Prof Snape. He did an excellent job in this one! I loved how he managed to be humorous. It's so cool seeing the kids growing up and taking on more hormonal issues. I was sad at the end, but I knew it was coming. It wasn't my favorite of the HP movies, but definitely exciting.

Here are my thoughts on what I've seen this month.
*In Theatres* Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince: Some parts of this were interesting, but some parts I could do without. I wasn't a fan of all the girls going crazy over Harry & Ron. Overall, I'd have to say that this wasn't as good as the previous entry, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do for the next movie. Orphan: This was an excellent psychological horror. The child playing the orphan Esther did an excellent job in this movie. I am looking forward to seeing what work she does in the future. The Ugly Truth: There were definitely parts of this that were hilarious, but I was disappointed w/ this overall b/c I really didn't buy any romantic chemistry between Katherine Heigl & Gerard Butler. *Rented/Borrowed* The Unborn: There were some interesting points in the storyline & it had a good twist ending, but it was slow paced for the most part. Watchmen: Some parts of this were interesting, but there were some things in it that made me go WTF. The director's cut of the DVD is 3 hrs. long, so I watched it over the course of 2 days. The 1st half was much more interesting. When I got to the 2nd half of the movie, I just wanted it to be over already. |

Here's what I've seen in the past month.
Julie & Julia: Good movie! It's cute & very funny. I somehow have the feeling that Meryl Streep will get some award nominations for her role. The Time Traveler's Wife: This was another interesting movie that I ended up liking. The Final Destination: This one wasn't as good as previous entries in the franchise. There were some interesting things, but some stuff felt like it was recycled from some of the previous movies. This was my first time seeing a horror movie in 3D, so this was an interesting experience. Halloween 2: Hated this! I'm so glad I used a free movie ticket for this rather than spending $7 on it. The lead actress was terrible & that pretty much ruined things. I also rented The Haunting In Connecticut. There were a few interesting scenes, but overall it was a mediocre horror movie. |

Here's what I've seen lately.
Fame: This ended up being quite good. I thought it might be too "glossy" at first, but then it started to be a little more serious. I think it did a good job at capturing the spirit of the original. Whip It: Overall, this ended up being quite interesting. It did drag a bit in a couple of places though. Since it's Oct. (and Halloween season), I'm going to be renting mostly horror movies, although there are a few non-horrors included (i.e. stuff like The Corpse Bride). So far, Friday The 13th (the original) has bored me. The TX Chainsaw Massacre ended up being more interesting & creepier than I thought it would be. The original of TCM was much better than the remake, although the remake did make a good effort to keep the spirit of the original while adding in some new twists. |

Megan, I recommend the movie Rest Stop if you haven't seen it. There's a 1 and 2, but I didn't think 2 was good at all. The first one was an interesting watch to me.
I thought Miss March was hilarious!! My son kept saying "Gosh mom, it's not THAT funny!", because I was laughing histerically. *********************************************** Scent your world at http://www.theperfectscents.com Say Hello Tomorrow with Avon at http://dperine.avonrepresentative.com |

Here's what I've seen in the past month.
The Stepfather: Better than a lot of the PG-13 horror fare out there, but it dragged on a lot in the middle. Saw 6: This one was actually quite good, despite the box office receipts saying otherwise. The only problem is that it's starting to get formulaic & there wasn't as much shocking stuff as there was in previous entries. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs: Very cute & fun! It's one of those animated movies that's good for people of all ages. The Box: I really wanted to give this one the benefit of the doubt, but ended up not liking it. The first hour was interesting, but the second hour just turned into something weird. As for stuff I've rented, I recently saw Drag Me To Hell. I was scared I wasn't going to like it since the mainstream critics were giving it good reviews & I don't usually like horror movies that mainstream critics fawn over. But this one was a pleasant surprised that managed to keep me entertained despite the fact I read a spoiler about the ending several months ago. Horror movie season is now over for me until the Feb. trifecta of The Wolfman/Shutter Island/The Crazies. I'm now looking forward to holiday & Oscar movie season. |
