I watched Hairspray last night with my DD and MIL. I didn't want to see it but because they wanted to watch it, I did. I absolutely LOVED it! It was much better than I anticipated and very entertaining. Smiler

The Strangers is a very creepy movie. It makes me not want to open my curtains at night. It was quite drawn out though. It had only 6 actors in the same house all night. wtf3

I went to see Mamma Mia today. It was quite packed since the theatre I went to had this only on 1 screen. I found this movie to be only OK. The scenery was gorgeous & I thought that Meryl Streep & the daughter were good at their singing performances. Pierce Brosnan's singing skills, on the other hand, were subpar. Crap I also felt the ending of the movie was a little bit over the top.

On an interesting note, I saw 2 awkward looking middle school girls talking about the movie when I went into Ulta tonight. They were complaining that there was a lot of singing. Hello, it's a musical! And the girls pretty much spoiled the entire ending in front of the cashier and any other customers who might have been standing near the checkout. Roll Eyes They're quite lucky that I ended up seeing the movie earlier in the afternoon or else I might've had to had a little chat w/ them about proper movie spoiling etiquette (i.e. don't spoil movies in public).

I have been watching a few movies lately:

Made of Honor - I thought it was a bit predictible. It wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be but it was worth a watch!

Hot Rod - very silly in a Napoleon Dynamite type of way. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Smiler

College Road Trip - This was ok but nothing special

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - I enjoyed this one, it was pretty funny because the guy was just pathetic for a while. Smiler

The Happening - This was better than I expected because it didn't get the best reviews. I liked it though.

I seen tropic thunder. That movie is funny. Tom Cruise really steps outside his usual roles and really shows us his comic side. Smiler

I finally got around to watching some movies on my DVR. I am trying to clear them off before the new fall season starts up.

Knocked Up- I thought it was pretty funny, some parts were a little cheesy. Overall though I enjoyed it.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry- This movie was OK, nothing great. I chuckled a couple times throughout it.

Hairspray- This was my favorite of the 3 I watched. I really enjoyed this, I would definitely recomend this movie.

I ended up seeing The Women this weekend. It was OK. I was fearing it was going to be really bad given that the preview was on TV all the time.

I also rented Knocked Up a few wks. ago. I decided to watch it since I heard Jason Segel was in it. Facial hair does not suit him. Crap The thing that ruined this movie for me was the cursing practically every other word.

I've seen a few movies recently. popcorn2

The Family That Preys: I thought this was a good movie. Kathy Bates provided a few bits of comic relief in what was mostly a serious movie.

Blindness: This was very good, but parts of the storyline were quite disturbing/haunting. It's a shame that the critics have panned over this one. I hated Gael García Bernal's character, but it was good to see him in a different type of role than I've been accustomed to seeing him in.

I've seen quite a few previews for movies coming up in Nov.-Dec. I think this year's awards season will be quite interesting. Yes

I saw Nights In Rodanthe last night. I thought overall it was pretty good, but unfortunately the movie never measures up to the book. They always change things, and leave out things. Yes

The last movie I saw in the theater was Step Brothers and I thought it was by far the funniest movie of the summer! If you haven't seen it yet you definitely should if you want a good laugh...

just to give you a taste... here's a link to an interview/movie clips
