just wanted to let you all know that i will not be around for a while, i dont know how long this will be,im a not feeling the way that i should, and so i am making provisions take care of the matter.

hey everyone, just wanted to bump the thread.
im still going to be away for a bit, but i wanted to let you all know why.
ive been going through a lot lately.
work has been very stressful and im feeling
depressed and trying to cope.
at the end of April, i decided i was going to
try online dating again after a very bad dissapointment last year.i met someone online
whom, i though was "the one" or at least someone
who i could finally tell my friends and family
that i had found someone.two weeks ago,i looked
online and say that he was updating his profile.
to make a long story short, he hasnt been calling me or anything else for that matter, despite him telling me that i am his girlfriend
and that he is in love with me.
i havent been eating right and not feeling too good about myself, which is why i need a little bit of time to see what i am going to do, what makes it worse is that im close to 40, and was hoping that this person would be in my future.
i thought my bad luck streak was gone.
i will now and again check the boards and say
hi, until things are better.

i really do miss each and everyone of you
all.
i too consider this board to be family.
thank you all for the well wishes.
im hoping that some good luck will finally stick
to me.

MAnne, I know exactly how you feel w/ the whole bad luck in the dating dept. thing. There have been times where I've had guys "disappear" on me when things were seeming to go well or guys that turn into jerks overnight when they were previously nice & normal. It's not fun. You deserve so much better than that & this guy deserves a .

I hope things get better for you soon.

Awww MAnne, that sucks!!! Guys can be such jerks sometimes. I can imagine that you're hurt but this guy's actions, but sometimes it's better that they walk out. If he'd have stayed, he may have walked when you'd really gotten into him.

I know we want life to be good at 40 but sometimes we're just better off alone if the guy isn't the right one. Hang in there girl and don't be afraid to reach out and talk to people!

MAnne, I think most of us have been where you are at in some way. Hang in there, because no man is worth your tears.
I also think you deserve so much better than that!
Take all the time to focus on yourself, but know that we're here for you.
Also, don't ever give up on finding love!

of you for your well wishes. ive been going thru
a lot, im trying to find my way and feeling a
teeny bit better, although its still a battle.
ive had a multitute of losses over the years and present, as well as other stressors.
that i need to deal with and have been trying
to remedy that.
so im taking it one day at a time.

My heart goes out to you for all of your losses.
And I can totally relate to where you are coming from.

On line dating is sort of like 'swaplifting' except there are no 'tokens' for losers.

There is so much fraud on the internet. I've looked at some of those 'dating services' and most of the profiles are pure fiction. Most of those people should be sued for false advertising.

Over the past few years, my so called family has abandoned/divorced me, I buried 4 family members and had an acute stroke on 7/7/07.

To go from a productive person in the nursing profession to a recipient of Social Security Disability has made me feel as if I have been robbed.

You are worth SO much more than that internet stuff and deserve better.

40 is not old these days.

I am certain when you least expect it, that special person will come into your life. I read in a Buddhist book that we should become persons of fortune. To let fortune find US rather than seeking it out.

I've never met people on the internet. All of my friends are people I've worked with and I've know them for over 20 years.

A friend will tell you what you need to hear rather than what you want to hear.

Winter never fails to turn into Spring, so I just know true happiness is just around the corner for you.

Surround yourself with friends.

It helps to talk things out with people also.
