Janelle - Yeah Rotflol it's an ongoing joke I have with Fryl. Apparently I've been living in a cave somewhere because I hadn't known about Elmyra until Fryl mentioned her to me Bonk.

I looked Elmyra Duff up on Wikipedia and from what I've understood, she is the antithesis of Elmer Fudd. Elmer hates animals and Elmyra adores them Love. SO cute Thumbsup.

Fryl, the fleece blanket was the cat's Valentine's present. It came from Target.

I'm trying to get her to be better groomed. She got a brush last weekend & is currently warming up to it. Yes This has helped out her shedding problem quite a bit. She purrs when I brush her back, but isn't as happy when her belly fur gets brushed. I think that she thinks the brush is a toy b/c she likes to paw at it.

But there is room for some improvement. I'm looking for suggestions for a breath treatment. I also would like to find some kind of kitty mist/perfume b/c her fur smells like dust. Crap I'll take reccomendations for that as well. Of course, these would have to be pet-safe products. Yes

What a spoilt kitty!baby

I think cats don't like their bellies rubbed in general.
Brushing is a good thing, you'll have fewer hairballs.

I brush my cat's teeth, but I've noticed she only gets bad breath whenever I feed her the canned food with fish flavours so I stay away from that, and now it's fine.

If a cat has bad breath the fur usually doesn't smell too great either, so if you eliminate the bad breath you may not have to do anything about the fur.

I love to give my cat baths though, but the waterless kind otherwise I'd be six feet under.
There's a mousse that lathers and you just dry it off. You can find it at PetsMart and Petco.
Foaming Waterless Cat Shampoo

I have dry shampoos too in Sun-Ripened Raspberry, Cucumber Melon, Gingerbread, and Peppermint.Big Grin
I also have sprays in tropical scents to condition the fur and to make it shiny and healthy. All these products are specifically for cats. I got them at PetsMart.
I only use the shampoos though.Smiler

Rotflol at six feet under! Too funny but I know exactly what you mean. You should have seen my kitty when I was putting on his soft paws a couple nights ago. Ay carramba!!

That's too cute! I would love my cat to smell like Peppermint too, but he's a dirty lil cat and always plays in the garden so that wouldn't last.
Also, he runs away if he just hears water coming out the drain lol. And bringing him close to water is not a good idea he can be very mean and scratch me up until I leave him alone Escape

I don't think I'd even attempt to bathe a Siamese cat.

I think Tortilla would like a peppermint scented mist. After all, she does like to play w/ mint candies & was very interested in my peppermint scented 3-in-1's. Yes

I don't know if she'd be so fond of getting her teeth brushed. But I'd be interested in knowing what type of toothpaste you use on a cat.

I was browsing on the Petsmart website & found this: Soft Claws Nail Caps. I was just reading the application instructions in the product description & I don't think that any cat would sit still during that. A couple of months ago, I was wishing there would be some type of product like that b/c Tortilla was having issues w/ scratching people. Crap Her claws are really sharp, so I tried to give her claws a little trim in an attempt to solve the problem. I gave up after 5 claws. I'm surprised I escaped that incident unscratched. Eeker

Megan, there's special enzymatic toothpaste for cats that can be found at the petstore.Smiler
It's not an easy task to brush a cat's teeth but it can be done.
Big Grin

I also trim my cat's nails. She growled at me once but now she seems fine when I do it.Big Grin

I really don't understand my cat. If she can crawl underneath the bed, how is it that she can't crawl back out?!
If she hadn't seduced me with her cute looks, I might have come home with a smarter cat.Razzer

My cat wasn't happy with the application in the beginning. He was ok when I clipped his nails but he didn't like me pushing his claw out to put the cap on. But I just kept after him and kept massaging his paws while he relaxed. It took me two days to get them all on! But even my daughter who was dead set against it now loves them. He no longer scratches her face when she's sleeping or snags the comforter! And I don't freak out when he scratches at my new furniture or the wall when he wants to go outside. SIGH!! Smiler Well worth it!!
