It's time to signup for our holiday swap. Here are the rules & details of the holiday swap process.

Signup:
1) You must first be eligible to sign up. In this case, being eligible means you must actively post and have a swap and/or fraffle history.
2) To sign up, you must PM me your address & your answers to the survey in the post below this one. Additionally, please announce your participation in this thread. We all would like to know who might be our elf.
3) For international elves, please also PM me the info about what you usually have put on your customs form to avoid duties.
4) The signup deadline is Oct. 1.

Elf Selection:
1) The methodology I'm planning to use for elf selection is a little bit different than last year. I am going to have two bags with all names in them. The name drawn from the first bag will be the gift giver and the name drawn from the second bag will be the elf. I will also be looking at the questions about international shipping and allergies to make sure that each elf has a compatible gift giver.
2) I hope to have elf selection done and elf assignments sent by Oct. 5, if not sooner.

Shopping & Wishlists:
1) Once we get closer to elf selection, we will start a wishlist thread. I'm sure you will want to edit your wishlists a couple of times throughout this process. To keep things organized, please edit your wishlist post to mention what date you edited on.
2) If you have any remaining questions about your elf's preferences that aren't addressed by the survey or the wishlist, PM me & I will send the question to your elf.
3) Some of us might choose to shop from etailers during this swap. If this is the case, please be mindful that it is better to order these items earlier so they arrive in a timely fashion. For this swap, it is advisable to order from those who have premade items or turnaround time that is one month or less.

Shipping:
1) Delivery confirmation or tracking will be required. When you have shipped your package, please PM me your DC # or tracking info.
2) When you receive your package, please PM me & let me know. I'll then inform your gift giver that your package has arrived.
3) There are 2 shipping deadlines; Dec. 1 for international & Dec. 10 for domestic.

Goodie Haul:
Once you've got everything, you get to post about it & take photos to share w/ the rest of the board. We will have a "Goodie Haul" thread, which will become active only when everyone has received their packages. I will let you know when that is.

During the course of the holiday swap, if you have any questions, concerns, or address changes, feel free to PM me.

Are there any allergies that people should consider? (i.e. certain beauty products, specific food allergies, pets, smoke, etc.)

Do you live in a pet free environment? If not, please state what types of animals reside in your living environment.

Miscellaneous Questions:
Are you willing to ship internationally?
Are there any companies that you boycott?
What other interests or types of products do you collect besides beauty items?

What types of items would you like to receive as extras?
What types of holiday/winter seasonal decor do you like?

As much as I have been looking forward to it, I don't think I'll be able to sign up this year. My money is pretty much stretched to other things at the moment.

BUT, I wish all the little elves all the fun in the world, and I can't wait to hear all about the goodies that everyone recieves!

I've been looking over my PMs and will let you know if signup is complete or if I still need more info from you.

Also, some members have questions about eligibility. In these cases, I've told members to post their questions in the "Holiday Swap Poll" thread. So far the people having questions are people I would be comfortable with participating, but I felt it would be good to get some input from others too. If you approve these members, please post that in the poll thread to let them know.

A couple of days ago, I received a PM asking about a extension for the signup date. Since I do try to be accomodating, I discussed a possible extension with the current elves. I will extend signup until Wed., Oct. 17. If you are interested, please post in this thread & PM me your survey & address.

However, please note there will not be any extensions on shipping deadlines.
