I am usually a very smart person, but not technical wise I guess.

If I go to google like fryl suggested before, and pick an avatar that I like, what do I do then? I think it has to be 100 x 100? How do I get it from there to here?

Could someone please help me with this, cause I'm just hopeless.

Don't feel that way. Ever since I switched from 'Windoze' to a Mac, I've felt like a total retard.

Solution? I will ask one of my nephews how to do it. They can do all kinds of things like make copies of DVDs using copyright override protection programs, burning CDs and put music on my evil Ipods.

Children can be VERY useful at doing things sometimes.

Noelle, you can use google to find cute images. After you've found a picture you like, right click it and choose to "save picture as" and save it somewhere you'll be able to find it easily like on your desktop.

Next, click on your profile and click on "View/Edit Complete Profile". Next to your current avatar you'll find "edit", click on that, click on "custom avatar" which is above all the selection of other avatars, select upload, then browse for the picture. ( There's a drop-down menu for "look in" select desktop if that's where you stored the picture.
Then click to update.

Can someone help me rezise my avatar? I don't want it to be so big...

There's probably a few ways to do this, don't know the best way but one is:

Open it up in Paint, which you should have on your computer. Then on top click Image, then Stretch/Skew. Under Stretch it should have a horizontal and vertical box. To get it half the size put in 50% in both boxes and then click ok. Probably an easier way but that's how I've always done it

Anan, I actually like Santa Kitty a whole lot better than Pumpkin Kitty. Santa Kitty looks really happy. Pumpkin Kitty looked like it was about to scream, "Orange is so not my color!"

Make sure you save these onto your own hard drive if you do like them .


PS: These were resized in PSPX, I don't know if you have this program, but, make note that your image will almost always look better if you resize gifs and jpgs in increments of 50 or 25.
For images like this I generally use pixels and not percentages when resizing (it works well with icons and avatars). Remember to sharpen the image after resizing.
