I received my TBDS order yesterday, finally! Mail

I ordered 3 body gloss roll ons

* Pink Buttercream Frosting - compared to Jaqua PBF, it's not the same. This one is more of a strong vanilla with a "pink" note. It's not my favorite, but still nice.

* Strawberry Kisses - a pretty nice strawberry scent, although it does smell a bit artificial. Very strong so a little goes a long way.

* Vanilla Pineapple - I don't smell any vanilla in it at all, although the pineapple scent is very good. IMO, it smells identical to a pineapple Lifesaver. Smiler

The roll ons have to be shaken before using to mix it up, because the oil / fragrance separates. Overall, I'm satisfied with the order but I'm not sure I would order again. They all 3 seem to leave a slight chemical odor after about 30 minutes.

She included 2 lotion samples, which was nice to do. Smiler

Blackberry Bee
Raspberry Lemonade

I plan to Fraffle the lotion samples. Smiler

Sorry to hear that the stuff you ordered wasn't all that great. I have a similar experience with S&L. The good thing is that the stuff didn't cost very much, it was worth a try, right?Smiler

It was definitely worth a try. Smiler

I wish S&L had worked out for you too. Crap

I really love the Ralph Lauren Cool & Vanille Abricot dupes I got from S&L and would reorder, but the other 2 I didn't care for too much.

Tutti, what other dupes did you get?

I got a dupe of Philosophy Falling in Love in a swap, and the person told me it was a dead ringer. I've never smelled it before (The origninal, that is), but whatever this is that she sent me, it sure smells good!!!

I received my BDS marshmallow peeps perfume and I spritzed it once on a tissue. I didn't want to put it on my skin because I didn't want to take the chance of breaking out. (Not just her stuff I have had trouble with, to be clear, but ANY e-tailer it seems it happens.

It is super sweet! I am going to be putting it on my swap list along with a few other things later. 12 bucks plus 4 with shipping, but I should have known better with my luck with e-tailers. Frowner

Yeah, I'm always careful with e-tailers after I ordered nearly $100 worth of stuff from Beach Girl Beauty and was disappointed in everything but one sample scrub. It's weird... the stuff smelled like plasticky fermeldahyde (sp?) to me, but everyone else adored the stuff. I either swapped or gave everything away. Here's what I've learned about ordering from e-tailers:

Always try to use the stuff up ASAP, because most e-tailers go light on the preservatives. We're used to BBW stuff, which lasts for a long time.

If you're not sure of a scent, try to get a sample first.

Swapping is a good idea because it saves $$$ and recycles your unwanted stuff. It's such an easy way to try out e-tailer stuff.

Cleanse Your Soul is probably the most economical e-tailer. You get great products for great prices.

Coconut Hut is one of the best, but the prices are creeping up every few months. Soon, their products will probably be unaffordable. For now, though, they're my favorite.

The Body Dessert Shop has the most overrated and overpriced items, IMHO. I almost made an order, then got two "body creams" in a swap and was thoroughly disappointed. The consistency was just like water, and to top it off, they smelled like sour curdled milk. It was a godsend that I got those samples before I wasted my money.

I really like LemonBaySoap's products, but I think the packaging is a little messy sometimes. My scrubs have always leaked, and my lotion sample containers sometimes break or won't open. For this reason, I would avoid their scrubs.

I'm done going on and on about e-tailers for now. Blah

Wendy,

Most everything that I have ordered from e-tailers I have had problems with breaking out. I have no idea what they are using in the products that do it.

I have found only a few that doesn't have that "off" scent to them either. I found one that really was great and lasted a long time from jadegreenbeans. It's called reiny day kids shampoo and conditioner in butter cookie. That's the only thing I have tried from her though.

Noelle,

Marissa (Jade Green Beans) was my souce for the orginal BBW Butter Cookie and VBN pure fragrance oil! She made up some of the world's best luxury lotion and is teaching her daughters the value of money via Reiny Day Kids.
Love
Unfortunately, her web site 'crashed' about a year ago amd she's no longer in business. I used to order several packages of stuff from her and never had an allergic reaction. Good thing I have enough fragrance oil to make my own lotion.
Jadegreenbeans and Suds and Light (Michelle) are among the best etailers I've done business with.
Now..I will try Romaine.
Smiler

Has anyone ever tried any of those Green Lady Soaps products? The fragrance samples I've gotten in swaps all smelled nice.

Jeff,

I tried to look for jadegreenbeans and I couldn't find the site anymore. I wanted more of the butter cookie. Cry And no skin reaction was a plus!

Why in the world would she go out of business? But I guess e-tailers have to put alot of time and money in their products.

Even though I only ordered from her the one time, I heard from everyone how great the rest of her products were.

Noelle,
I 'googled' Jadegreenbeans and found her site. Her computer crashed.
Cry
Marissa (Jade Green Beans) was one of the 'first' eTailers with whom I did business.
She even had her own business off eBay and I'd get emails with her specials, formulas, supplies...all kinds of wonderful things. Marissa was instrumental in making Vanilla Bean Noel (Cookies for Santa) available all the time.
Love Love Love
I was able to re-create the entire 'Home Baked' lotion fragrance line thanks to this lovely gal.

There is another eTailer, Berrysweet, from whom I ordered the best peanut butter fudge, orange creamsicle and other delicious lotions, soaps and roll ons. I believe she is still in business.
Love Love Love Love
Am just running out of Berrysweet's products.
I am looking for her on eBay. Now HER cucumber melon smelled like REAL cucumbers and fresh melon. I must find these ladies again!!!!
