Hi Meridith, My daughter has long and ridiculus to manage hair, I use a flat iron after washing and seems to do the trick with a touch of jojoba and neroli oil. But it takes approx 3 hours to wash and flat iron her hair, she's 9, yet her hair is past her bottom, I can't stand it!

Hello Mysoleil,
Sounds like your daughter needs a hair cut.
You should try getting it layered, it will help to take the weight off and make it less poofy while still keeping some length.
Try towel drying her hair and letting the rest air dry and just put a little serum (or jojoba oil) through out the bottom half of the hair.
I have found that mixing the jojoba oil with my conditioner works really well because it keeps my hair smooth and soft but the oil doesn't build up.
let me know if this helps,
meredith

Thank you Meredith, I have tossed the idea of layering her hair around for the last couple of months, but I cut her hair every 4 months (I take about 4 inches of the bottom each time), and it seems that the more I cut it, the quicker it comes back!

Have you tried putting leave in conditioner in her hair. I use it and it makes my hair more manageable.
