I was thinking about getting some of the MAC pigments because I've heard many people rave about them. My question is, what shades should I get? I would appreciate any input! Thumbsup

Hi! I'm just getting into MAC pigments myself. I understand there are certain pigments that are NOT to be near the eyes. They say specifically which ones on the MAC website. I only use pigments as eye shadows so I have to be careful I don't buy ones that aren't for the eye area. It's only a few of them that can't be around the eye but it's something to keep in mind. They really are all beautiful. A lot of sellers on ebay sell generous samples. I haven't gone that route myself but it's pretty popular. I'm sure it's a good way to see and test the colors before buying a full jar. Choose a color you'll use a lot. Like a soft brown glimmery color... I swear those jars will last a lifetime. cheers3 I'm in the same boat you are... I'm noticing MAC pigments are addicting.. So be careful!!! Hehehe

I started buying pigments a few months ago and love them. Heres a good website about them: http://www.precautions.specktra.net/faq.html . I would start with buying samples on Ebay. The full size jars are $20 so if you buy samples you're sure you like the color before you invest $20 into it.

MissV, I agree with the other ladies. Start with getting samples on eBay before you commit to a full jar! The jar will most definitely last you a long long time if not a lifetime like Olfactorygirl says.
As for colours, it all depends on what your preference is. There's an array of colours, it's so hard to choose.

I was thinking about getting the color Kitschmas. It's kind of like a silvery light purple color. But I'm also looking for a chocolate brown color. Any recommendations? I'll be sure to check out Ebay for samples. Are there any specific sellers you guys can recommend? Thanks so much! Big Grin

Okay. I've already bought a shade called "Shimmertime" on Ebay. I'll probably get more from the same seller. Is $2 reasonable for a 1/4 sample?

MissV, I was given Kitchmas as a sample in a swap a long while ago. It was a 1'4 as well. I still have quite a bit left and love it! It's very subtle. Gives me a twinkle without the glitters... Flower

Yes, you'll need a make up brush. I know that some people also apply it with their fingers though.
But I'd invest in a good eye shadow brush.

Kimmer, Chocolate Brown is still on the MAC website. It's not a limited edition pigment.

Maybe you just missed it, it's in the first column.

Oka hugy. Now all I need is some recommendations for a good makeup brush. It can't be TOO expensive, but I don't want it to be flimsy either. Something in the middle I guess. Any thoughts? Thank you all so much for being so helpful!

Try Kohl's, MissV.Smiler
I would suggest Clinique too, but I think they're brushes maybe a little more.
You should also try Target.

When I started using pigments I just bought one at Target for $1.99. Its really nice and works well, I don't think you really need an expensive one Smiler. Like Fryl said, try Kohl's too.

MissV, you should also try craftstores like Hobby Lobby and Michael's.
They should have brushes too.
