VS Very Sexy Makeup

I decided to start this thread so we could talk about all the products, not just the lip gloss. I found a few things that I find interesting & I might want to get, but I will have to see them in person before I can definitely make a purchase.

Sheer Moisture Lipstick: Body Language & Exhibitionist
Perfect Lipstick: Sex Kitten, Stiletto, Sweet Release, Tease, VIP, & Vixen
Lip Gloss: Intimate, Minx, Passion, Romp (I'll only be buying one of these, but not sure which one of these pinks to get.)
Nail Lacquer: Lover

I didn't see any of the Sparkling Lipstick that Amanda mentioned, but I'm sure there will be some shades in that I might want to try out. It also turns out that I'm not interested in the blushes after all. The makeup bag looks really cute, but it's black & things that are black get dusty little easily.

I'll have more thoughts to post later, but that's it for now.

I saw the products @ VSB the other day.

While a vast improvement over the prior VS makeup line, a lot of the colors are rather gaudy and too irridescent. I hope I never run into anyone wearing that horrid fuscia color.

Hope the foundations are not like the d/c ones because they went on like bondo or spackle.

Jeff, I'll have to agree w/ you about the fuschia. The hot pink nail polish called Explosive looks like it should be called Prostitute.

Anyway, the packaging kinda reminds me of MAC stuff somewhat in that it's all black & b/c it has an edgy look to it. I quite like it, although it'll definitely be a different look compared to the makeup I have already.

Oh gosh, I want so much of it! I can't wait until it's in stores, and it's all fairly affordable!! I love the black and pink design for the packaging. Looking at all that makes me feel like a kid in a candy store-no way can I choose something!!!

Can we say "New Favorite Makeup Line??"

I just revamped my wishlist, and I have $145 worth of makeup on there!
I'll have to make getting the Very Sexy makeup a real treat for myself.
When it debuts, I'll take in some of my Insatiable stuff that I want to return anyway and barter for my "must-haves" from the new line: the liquid liner pen, the face illuminator, and either the Frisky or Satisfied eye palette.
After that, I'll allow myself to buy maybe one item a month, since this stuff is more than I ever spend on single items of makeup, and I'll have to actively use the stuff I bought in the first place to allow myself any more. Too often I buy makeup and don't use it, and I just can't let myself spend $18 on an eyeshadow that I use once and never again.

Whilst I haven't actually seen any of the new stuff in person, I am quite impressed already. The packaging of the palettes remind me of Bobbi Brown make up.
It looks very sophisticated. I love the make up bag.

I've decided to add Perfect Lipstick in Stiletto as a maybe. When the line launches, I'm planning on getting 3 lipsticks & Nail Lacquer in Lover. I have some merchandise credit that will basically take care of it, although I might have to spend a few $. Also, VS is being generous in their promos. I'm definitely taking advantage of the free tank top & lip gloss w/ $35 beauty purchase. I have 2 of the cards advertising that, but I don't know if they'll be coupons or promos that will be going on regardless. If it's used as a coupon, you might not have to spend anything @ VS to get it. There's a good chance that someone will have left one of their cards laying around the store. I'm also hoping I'll find the free mini lip gloss coupon in one of the fashion mags I end up getting. I don't think Hottie would be a shade I want, but I could use it as a swap or gift item.

The Very Sexy tank top and lip gloss is free with any $35 purchase and will be a promo for that floorset, so you dont need a coupon or that card. Even the stores that won't be carrying the makeup will have the tank promo.

Megan, since you're the first to get the VS makeup, what are your thoughts? Is it worth the hype?

I went to VS to check out all the Very Sexy makeup tonight.

I tried Perfect Lipsticks in Sex Kitten, Stiletto, & Sweet Release. I actually didn't like any of the other lipstick colors once I saw them in person. Sweet Release is a pink/neutral mix that reminds me of my signature lipstick, Clinique Sweet Honey. Sex Kitten is a pink/purple mix that actually looked quite good on me. Stiletto looked good in the tube, but looked too dark on me. It reminded me of this Clinique lip gloss shade called Raspberry Jam that I had when I was 15. The Very Sexy makeup booklet makes mention of Sparkling Lipstick, but I didn't see any of that there. I think I like the shade called Limelight, but I'll have to see it in person before I make a final decision.

I think I actually ended up liking the lip glosses better than the lipsticks. Anan, this is the part where you need to pay attn. Out of the 2 lip gloss shades on my original wishlist, I really liked Minx & Passion. Both of them are pretty pink shades that are actually quite similar to one another. So therefore, I couldn't make up my mind on which one to choose. Passion is the more shimmery of the 2, but isn't glitterati. And I did see some glitterati shades of lip gloss tonight. But I think people on here will like Minx b/c it reminds me a lot of Goldie's Baby lip gloss.

I also got the nail lacquer in Lover, but I think that's more of a pink than a purple. I haven't tested that one out yet.

I have more to say about this line b/c I saw some stuff that I wasn't impressed with. But I've too much, so I'll save my comments about that for later. I'll also be going back this weekend to retry Stiletto & play w/ the lip gloss again. The lip glosses aren't all that big, so they're a good size for me. I can see myself developing an addiction to those. And in my GWP package, I got the promo booklet, which I am going to be using for reference purposes.

I got some makeup today.

Face Illuminator in Yes!:
VERY hard to get out of the tube. But, it creates a very nice glow on my skin without being heavy or overly noticeable.

Liquid Liner Pen in Blackout:
I'm quite happy with this. It goes on easily and doesn't smudge. The only bad part is that it smells like a Sharpie.

Mosiac Eyeshadow in Satisfied: Satisfied is right! All the shades blend together really well to create a subtly sheen sexy grey/white eye. I used the black to create a mild cat-eye.
A definite winner and I can't wait to try Frisky and Eye Candy.

Lip Gloss in Hot Pants: Clearish pink with mild glitter. Goes on with a brush and is just a bit thinner than Beauty Rush. This is a great freebie.

Very Sexy tanktop: There's only one size available, and when I pulled it out and looked at it, I thought "There's NO way this is going to fit me! Well, it actually does fit me since it's mildly stretchy. And it doesn't look half bad! It defined my hourglass figure quite well, which I love. The only bad part is that it's racerback, so I can't wear a bra with it. That makes it a "kickin' it around the house" shirt. I also wish that the gems that spell out Very Sexy were red instead of pink, but whatever.

I'm definitely very interested in the lip glosses in this line. I actually don't want my Hot Pants gloss b/c I think it looks too glitterati. There's another one that looks too glitterati as well, but I forget whether that was Intimate or Romp. I'm kinda surprised that Hot Pants was the free lip gloss b/c they featured Make Out on the card. I didn't pay attn. to Make Out much last night, but in photos it reminds me of Whip It by Goldie. There are some other lip glosses that remind me of Goldie stuff; Wet reminds me exactly of Naked & Hottie is kinda similar to Blossom. And I don't understand why there's a lip gloss called Password; that's decidedly not sexy. Just to inform everyone who hasn't tried out the lip glosses yet, the brushes on the wands are actual bristles & not spongy like lip gloss wands usually are.

There's some more lip glosses I want to try out. Fearless is a gorgeous royal purple. It looks like something that belongs @ the MAC counter, but I'm gonna have to give it a try. Ripening is a light purple shade that looks like it might be interesting after I've looked @ the lip glosses again online. I may have to get Make Out just for the novelty of it.

As far as the lipsticks, Beg Me & Hot Spot are too strong on the hot pink. I think Sensual looks good on the website, but reds hardly look good on me. But I will try it anyway.

I didn't like the racerback style of the Very Sexy tank top & actually thought a lot of my Pink tank tops were better than this one. But it's cute & free, so I'll keep it.

The store I went to had a vertical display of makeup w/ lip & nail color on one side & eye & face color on the other side. I'm going to the remodeled store this weekend, so their display might look different. Also, this is just a warning to anyone who goes to VS, but the posters have a list of random shades on them. I like the risqué names for everything, but the poster in the store display kinda reads like the soundtrack to a bad porn movie.

I didn't have enough time to go to VS this morning, but hopefully I can go soon and check things out. I am definitely interested in receiving that tank top for free!

I went back to VS to play w/ the makeup yet again, so I now have more opinions. I basically only looked @ the lip glosses tonight.

Make Out: Actually is a pink/red shade & not the hot pink shade I had feared. It looks good on me.
Fearless: Looks like a royal purple in tube, but applies as a plum shade. I tried this one & thought it looked excellent on me.
Ripening: This is a light purple shade that goes on sheer. I decided to pass on this.
Rumor: This is a light fleshy pink shade that goes on sheer. This was also the one that I thought looked similar to Nars Orgasm. I decided to pass on this.

I also looked @ Romp & Intimate again. Both of them are nice pink shades. They're heavier on the glitterati than Passion & Fearless, but not as heavy duty on the glitterati as Hot Pants. I think I will actually try those this weekend.

I didn't look much at the lipsticks tonight. Sensual looked boring when I saw it in person. I saw on the display where there was an area for Sparkling Lipstick, but they haven't gotten them in yet.

And in case anyone's wondering, I'm not done buying Very Sexy makeup just yet. I'll probably be getting even more this weekend.

Wow, loved reading about this new line! Esp the lip glosses (Megan!)

I haven't been out to see it yet, but this and the FT at BBW are gonna be keeping me super busy in the wallet. I'd love to splurge and get some new makeup. Since I've started teaching, I've actually been wearing more makeup, so I'm getting even more into it now than ever.

No Sparkling Lipsticks yet to be found.

I retried lipstick in Stiletto today & liked it, so I bought a tube of that. I also tried lip gloss in Romp, but that went on kinda sheer b/c of all the glitter, so I passed on that one. I've also noticed that the Make Out lip gloss is selling out like hot cakes. The remodeled VS today that I went to was completely out of stock of that one.

I've also played w/ some of the makeup I bought earlier in the wk. The nail lacquer I got in Lover looks mauve in the bottle, but goes on as a violet shade. It looks really good! If there's one thing I've learned from buying Very Sexy makeup, it's that I can actually pull off purple lip & nail colors. I wouldn't have thought that was even possible a couple of months ago.

So I think I'm done buying Very Sexy makeup for now until I find the Sparkling Lipsticks. I asked the SA when they were due & she said that she didn't know. Only once I have all the lipsticks I want, I'll choose a signature shade & buy a backup of that.

Went into VS and played around with the makeup today. I almost bought some more stuff, but I stopped myself until at least next payday.

Here's what I tried:
Mosiac Eye Palette: Frisky, Eye Candy
Gel Eyeliner Duo: Extra Olive
Pefect Lipstick: Slow Burn
Lip Gloss: Make Out
Mosiac Blush: Love Life
Lip Laquer: (I think) Aroused, After Hours
Long Wear Eye Cream: Stay Up
Nail Lacquer: Cocktail, Lover

All in all, I do really like the makeup. I might have to get the gel duo and the eyeliner brush. Normally I don't care about brushes too much, but the eyeliner brush is seriously great, esp. for the gel liner.

The blush looked great, but was a tad too shimmery for me.

The lipstick was a little underwhelming, but the gloss was great! I should've tried Open Invitation, since that one is a more true red, but I didn't. I can't remember the name of the lip laquers I tried because I wasn't paying attention to the names, I simply mixed the glittery bright red and glittery bright orange lacquers together on my lips. I did notice a bit of dryness with the lip stuff, though.

I will probably end up owning every single eye palette made in this line. Frisky looked SO GOOD, so I'll definitely be getting that when I have the extra money. When I saw Eye Candy in the store, I wasn't sure, so I wiped off Frisky and put Eye Candy on. It also looks really good. I'll have to give Urgency a test drive in the store. The eye cream is crap. It wiped right off.

I was very impressed by the nail lacquers. But I just can't bring myself to spend $9 on nail polish.

Becky - give the eye cream a chance. I never liked eye cream until these (the original VS ones, before this makeup collection) came out. They're made with ideli-color, which means that it will last all day and not crease at all. Speaking from lots and lots of experience, they really work. I like them because the colors are a little more vivid and last longer, too. I have every single color from the new makeup collection.

FINALLY went in today and I was able to get some Very Sexy Makeup of my own. I actually let an SA do a demo on me b/c I really wanted to get some shades that would work for me.

I never ever wear lip stick, but I ended up getting one today after the SA demoed it for me and I ended up loving it. I got it in Sweet Nothing. Megan I figure you'd like this one. I also got a lip liner in Pouty Pink. I've never had a lip liner before so I'm interested in seeing if I can see the effects of it. I used a coupon Megan sent me for the free mini of Hottie and I'm not sure if I like it or not so much yet. I'll have to play with it more.

Here are the other items I am VERY interested in:
Mosaic lip pallettes and the Gel eyeliner duo. I'd love any comments anyone has on any of those.

Overall, I'm impressed with the line and I plan on getting more sometime
