While it really should not have been a surprise, I am rather dismayed at this news.

I am considering picking up 3 or 4 bottles of virtual skin, 2 or 3 y/o and 1 b/r to last me a while. I was, however, unsure of the shelf life on foundation.

Does anyone know?

Kelli,

It's no surprise Prescriptives is being d/c.
Estee Lauder tends to drop underperforming lines. They sold Stila for that reason.

I would recommend that you don't stock up on Virtual Skin.

As Px is a Lauder product, you might try MAC as the product is the same despite the packaging.

All Lauder products come from the same factory in Long Island, NY.

I am sure MAC or Clinique can give you an exact match. Bobbi Brown is merely MAC repackaged at a higher price.

You might consider Origins also...another Lauder line.

Shelf life for foundation tends to be 2 years or less after opened.

Hope this info is helpful.

Smiler

Thanks Jeff for the info.

I have tried MAC before but will have to experiment on the shades. I was lucky at the prescriptives counter, the girl always gave me a sample of Real Rose when I bought a bottle of Real Cream. I appreciated her doing that so I didn't have to buy another bottle when I needed so little of the Rose to get a good match.

I'm guessing the studio fix is the closest to VS. I tried it once but the color was WAY wrong and never wore it.

I'm upset about Prescriptives going out of business too. Cry The Custom Blend Powder has been a HG of mine for the past 10 yrs. My skin tone is hard to match, so I'll be in a quandary once my stash of powder runs out. I did make sure to stock up though.

I was talking to the SA about how the Custom Blend Powder needs to move to another Lauder line & she told me that she had thought the same thing too. Apparently there have been lots of laments from customers like mine over that product.
