Do any of you have guidelines for picking out lipstick colors based on hair color and skin tone? I have trouble picking ones that look good on me and it's a little difficult trying out a bunch of different colors at the makeup counter.
I have dark reddish/brown hair and light skin with a bit of a pinkish undertone. Any suggestions? |

This happens to be one of my favorite topics of discussion.
First, you need to find your preferred color family. I go for pinks since they work well for my complexion. Secondly, you need to ask yourself what type of look you're going for. If you're looking for natural looking lip colors, I reccomend Clinique Different Lipsticks in Think Bronze & Sweet Honey. Think Bronze is a nude shade that I've tried and it looked decent on me, but I personally prefer more tint. Allure magazine actually chose it as one of their picks for lipsticks for people w/ fair complexion. Sweet Honey is a pink neutral shade w/ medium tint. I have lots of dramatic colors I like, but preference for those colors is more subjective, so I won't include those for now. ETA: The current issue of Allure magazine has a feature article on lipsticks, so you might want to check that out too. |

Thanks
I typically have a similar problem when it comes to picking a color. i don't really know what goes well with my complexion. My skin is fare, eyes are blueish gray and my hair is dark blond. I want my lips to be accentuated but no with red or pink |
