I have a confession...I'm on the verge of acquiring an OPI nail polish addiction. And no, Girls Love Pink wasn't the one that started my addiction. I did see that @ Trade Secret a couple of months ago & thought it looked cute in the bottle. But when I opened it, it was a little to glittery for me. It was actually the Mexico collection that got my attn. So far, I like 2 of the shades from that collection as well as another shade w/ a very VSesque sounding name. I'm trying to hold off on buying any OPI nail polishes until I see if there's any nail polishes in the upcoming VS makeup collection, but we shall see how long I last.

Shades That I'm Interested In:
Puerto Vallarta Violeta
Tijuana Dance
Aphrodite's Pink Nightie

Who else has tried OPI nail polishes & what are your favorite shades?

I have Puerto Vallarta Violeta, It's a very pretty color, but not something I will ever wear much so I swapped it recently.

I have a couple others - both of which I love.

I'm Not Really a Waitress - full size
Bogota Blackberry - full size

I also have minis of:
Chocolate Shakes-peare
Lincoln Park After Dark
I'm Not Really a Waitress

edited to add - I also recently purchased Windy City Pretty, but haven't tried it yet. Smiler

Hmm...I might want to rethink acquiring an addiction to OPI nail polishes. I was in Trade Secret yesterday looking @ the display & started to think about things. Tijuana Dance is practically the same as Puerto Vallarta Violeta, but I think I prefer PVV better. For some reason, Aphrodite's Pink Nightie looked like it had a purplish tint to it. Crap It looked pink to me when I had seen it @ Ulta. I also think I like A Dozen Rosas (also from the Mexico collection).

The thing I noticed that I didn't like was that the OPI nail polishes had a more chemical smell & were thinner in texture than the VS & Goldie nail polishes I've played with. We shall see about me purchasing these; a lot depends on what VS Very Sexy nail polishes I end up buying.

I opened an OPI nail polish I got last year, it'c called "Opening Night Champagne".
This is one of two nail polishes I purchased for $3.75 each at Trade Secret.
I think they were part of a collection that was released for the holidays.

Well, I finally got around to buying my 1st OPI nail polish. The one I got was Señorita Rosealita. It comes out as a raspberry color & has a little bit of shimmer to it. At first, I thought it was a lot of shimmer, but as it dried down, I realized it wasn't overdone. I thought I'd end up buying more since Ulta has a B2G1F sale on nail polishes this wk., but they were sold out of A Dozen Rosas. Frowner

I think I may have to get some reds once it gets to be fall, but I have a hard time telling the difference between reds unless it's something dramatically different (i.e. classic red. vs. wine/burgundy).

I tried out the nail polishes I got at the Ulta sale.

Flashbulb Fuschia: This is a pink going on electric purple. It's very vibrant. I probably wouldn't classify it as an everyday color, but it is something that looks good on me & I will want to use every once in awhile.

Holy Pink Pagoda: This is a shimmery salmon pink. I like it. Yes

It's All Greek To Me: This one is classified as a pink, but there are orangey red undertones to it. I think I'm going to have to return this one. Crap

I looked at the India collection, but none of the pinks in that collection work for me. Frowner I did think Curry Up Don't Be Late looks gorgeous, but my skintone doesn't go well with it.

Lastly, the summer Retro Fun In The Sun collection has been announced. I think Calendar Girl looks interesting & will have to at least check that out. Yes

I've had a chance to work w/ the nail polishes I got from the Mexico collection.

A Dozen Rosas: Nice, but this is a lighter pink shade than I like to wear.

You Rockapulco Red: I'm loving this one! Love It's warm & shimmery. I actually think this can also be used as a holiday red.

I'm trying to figure out what I want for a fall red shade. I'm having a hard time deciding between An Affair In Red Square & Vodka & Caviar. what

I guess AAIRS is the winner then. Big Grin I'm hoping that Ulta has a good coupon in their next ad.

I've also heard a rumor on the MUA nail board that Sephora is getting 15 exclusive OPI shades by the end of the summer. This sounds interesting & possibly dangerous for my wallet.

I have some more news that may or may not be dangerous for people's wallets. Photos of the fall, Halloween, & holiday stuff have been posted on the MUA nail board.

(Note: The following links are PDF files.)
OPI Fall 2008: France
OPI Halloween 2008
OPI Holiday 2008: Holiday In Toyland

I know I'm going to at least have to check out Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not. I've been wanting to try out an electric purple for quite some time. Yes Also, I think I might want to get one of the holiday reds even though I have quite a few reds in my possession already. Bonk

Thanks Megan, alot of those colors look really pretty. I cant wait to check them out. I also noticed in the Holiday In Toyland link, they had a new Avojuice body lotion coming out, Pumpkin Butter. Which sounds like it could be really good as well. Big Grin

I've been buying quite a few polishes lately & it's time for some reviews.

An Affair In Red Square: Gizmo & Fryl, you were right about this color. It's gorgeous! Love It's a pretty sparkly shade of red.

Do You Lilac It: This was a miss for me. The color inside the bottle looked gorgeous, but bad on my nails. I think light colors in creme finishes don't work for me. Crap

Jewel Of India: This one is a medium purple shade w/ a hint of pink to it. It's aptly named since it is a jewel tone. I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing this regularly in the fall. Yes

Vodka & Caviar: My experiences w/ OPI cremes have been bad so far, but this changed all this. Since it's a medium shade of red, it looked good to me. My nails didn't look as "imperfect" as they did w/ the lighter shades of cremes. And I must say, it's quite a sexy shade. Yes

The interesting thing is that when it comes to nail polish, reds are a dime a dozen. There are so many pretty shades out there. It's a lot harder to find good pink shades.

Here's an article about the Sephora/OPI collaboration. There's going to be 54 shades & they're $9 each. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. The only bad thing is that the bottles look somewhat smaller.

The bottles do look like they are smaller. Yes I still cant wait to check them out in August, and 54 shades wow I cant believe they are having that many. Which is just more dangerous for my wallet.
