Since "discovering" makeup ( eureka Woot ) recently...or to rephrase...since re-discovering MAC specifically, I have been purchasing quite a bit of stuff.
Which led me to think, we have a thread for our recent bath & body purchases, why not have a recent purchases thread for our makeup purchases Yes?

Sooo without further ado, here it is winking.
I know I am starting it at the end of December (almost), so this thread will be open to December 2006 and January 2007 since there's only a week left to December anyway winking.

Today I purchased:
4 x eyeshadows (twinks (extra), knight divine (extra), woodwinked, and blue edge).
2 x eye kohls (phone number (extra) and teddy).
2 x eye liners (taupe and coffee).

More to come Love winking.

Feel free to share your own purchases...in fact...you're encouraged Yes Angel!

Great idea Kimmer! I love talking about makeup!

Yesterday my BF bought me

Diorshow mascara
MAC eyeshadow in Mulch

I'm having second thoughts about the e/s now b/c I just discovered I have a Lancome one very similar to it. I haven't decided if i'm gonna keep it, exchange it for something else or just return it.

Thanks Jade kiss I am happy you agree and I am also glad to hear you like talking about makeup because I've been bitten by the bug winking.

I am seriously overwhelmed right now...there are soooooo many eyeshadows that I want from MAC, not to mentioned eye-khols, eye-pencils, brushes, lipglasses, and powerpoint eye-pencils Yes. I just discovered the triangles of doom next to a few of the colors I am wanting which of course makes me think I should get those first. I am kind of putting the pigments on the backburner simply because it's so much more fun to play with the eyeshadows (they're easier to handle and the color collection is HUGE).

Hmmm Mulch...what color is that? Is the Lancome one what similar to it? Have you tried applying it in-store? I mean there may be a difference upon application between the two which is why I am asking. It might be good to have both since they might be different (???)...just a thought what.

PS: I am loving your new icon by the way Thumbsup!

Mulch is a bronzey/shimmery brown. It's really pretty. Still haven't decided if i'm gonna keep it. I'm waiting to see if there's a new collection coming out soon, then maybe i'll do an exchange.

I want to try the powerpoint eye pencils too. I have a fluidline but gel liners take a little more time for me to apply. I need something that's quick for days when i'm in a rush.

I highly recommend the Lustreglasses if you like shimmery lipglosses. They are probably my favorite product from MAC. They go on super smooth. I like them better than the Lipglass b/c it has a brush applicator instead of a sponge applicator.

I Love makeup!

Hmmm that's sounding good Yes...I went to the MAC website and took a gander at the color itself and I am adding it to my "must try/must buy" list. I'll be sure to look at it in real-time when I got to MAC again. By the way, did you know that if you let the cursor stand on the color swatch you'll get a "pop-up" of the color definition? Super cool!
I must be honest, I haven't tried the glosses yet so I am not familiar with their applicators. I am not to keen on pots, wand applicators and the like. I like lipglosses that come in tubes where you can squeeze out your desired portion and gloss over after squeeze (like the Tutti Dolci lipglosses). Besides, it might just be me who thinks this, but I think lipglosses with those wand applicators are wasteful since you never get to the last bit of lipgloss at the bottom of the little lipgloss vial.
But like I was saying, I am not familiar with the glosses from MAC yet...so I may be envisioning something else entirely when you say "sponge applicator". Oh well...I think I'll just have to go look winking *cough* LOL.
I am in love with the eye-kohls Love...they glide on sooooo smoothly!!! And they're a dream to use when you want to create that smokey effect with the #219 brush - the "Phone Number" eye-kohl is my favorite...it goes wonderfully with Knight Divine and Twinks from what I have tried!!!
I am not going to count on MAC being consistent with their products...BBW has traumatized me Bonk so to top off wanting to try so many new products, I am heck-bent on stocking up on my favorites thus far Crazy.

I didn't make any purchases but I did receive some makeup for xmas Smiler

I got a Lancome Juicy Gelee in Diamond Tiara. It's a very pretty shimmery pink. Also got a pink Lancome lip brush. It's so pretty. I don't want to use it and ruin it.

Ohhh that's sounding pretty indeed Yes.

I didn't purchase any new makeup yet either (I will soon), but I did receive 4 new lip balms from a friend who went shopping at LUSH Yes.
Happy Talk, Chocolate Whipstick, Honey Trap, and Lip Squeak.

Those scents sound good Kimmer! Too bad I really dislike little pots of balms b/c i'd have to use my fingers. I think it's the nurse in me, I'm very anal almost borderline OCD when it comes to germs and hand washing nowadays Razzer

I know I know Yes that's my problem with them too!!! I also don't see myself using a lip brush for my lip balms know what I mean? Rotflol.
I have a ton of TBS lipglosses that I stocked up on a while back because I really liked the flavors and now I just don't know what I am going to do with them all...partly because of the fact that they're all potted.

I am really big on hygiene and the whole "dipping my finger into the pot" thing isn't speaking to me on a variety of levels. I used to dip...apply..wash my hand...dip...apply...wash my hand Crazy It was ridiculous Bonk.

Plus I am a big fan of lipglosses with a thick, smooth, and creamy consistency (like Tutti Dolci) as opposed to lip balms. So I am thinking I'll regift these Yes.

How are the LUSH balms? I heard they are great, but balms are tricky for me--I hate when they feel like Chapstick..

BBW Manager Wave - I haven't tried them yet because I am contemplating regifting these. The reason I am considering this option is exactly because of what you just mentioned...I am not incredibly partial to balms that end up feeling like chapstick where there's a little moisture but no real substance.
I love thick, creamy, and smooth glosses (like the TD glosses). The LUSH balms smell GREAT but the whole consistency thing plus the whole 'dipping my finger into the pot' thing has me hesitating. I don't know what I'll do with these what idunno.

To welcome the New Year I revisited the MAC Flagship near my home and made a few purchases (the girls there remember my name Woohoo ).

I just bought:
Eye Kohl: Phone Number (stocking up on this one).
Eyeshadow: Knight Divine (stocking up on this one), Mulch, Sable, Satin Taupe, and Mystery.
Powerpoint Eyepencil: Stubborn Brown
Lustreglass: Morning Glory (I saw this on my skin but didn't test it in-store because I don't like using used makeup. So we'll see how this goes down).
Lipglass: Clear Lipglass.

I decided that MAC will be my resident BBW...since I can't go there and wreak havoc, I might as well treat myself to a little MAC every month. What can I do, I am in Love.

Great purchases Kimmer! I see that you decided to purchase the Mulch e/s Rotflol

I returned mine. I tried it side by side with the Lancome one and it's way too similar so I'd rather use the 20 bucks on something else for the time being Smiler

Let me know what you think of the powerpoint eyepencil when you have time to try it. I think I want to get that.

Hope you like the Morning Glory. I love lustreglasses Smiler

Why thank you Jade kiss...I see we have this thread all to ourselves winking...I guess I'll just have to buy some more makeup to fill in the silence winking.

And YESSSS I bought Mulch Rotflol...I am reallllly liking this color. I have been finding out that I can basically use (almost) any color with Knight Divine (since I absolutely love the smokey look), and this one is no exception.
I'm thinking the next E/S round will be a focus on purples. I've been told that purple would be complimentary to my eye color (by almost everyone I meet...including Kels winking thanks hun), and I am eager to try it out.
There are seriously so many E/S colors that I am wanting to try...and many that I want to stock-pile just in case. It's starting Crazy LOL.

I hear what you're saying about Mulch and the Lancome E/S on your end and what you're saying makes a lot of sense Yes. If they're so similar then you really are better off focusing on getting another color instead. Maybe something to compliment the Lancome E/SSmiler.

I will be trying the powerpoint eyepencil soon and will definitely let you know how I am liking it Yes. There are other colors in this line that I am wanting so I am hoping I love it as much as I anticipate I will. I've heard nothing but rave reviews on it!!!

About the Lustreglass gloss, I hope I like this one. I didn't try it on in-store, since...well...I am not too crazy about trying on makeup that's been used beforehand, so I am hoping I strike it lucky. I'll update on that end as well.

What color are your eyes again? Brown or hazel? Green? Well either color will look good with purple e/s. I love purples and golds (I have brown eyes). Although I was never really satisfied with any of the purples from MAC. My HG purple e/s is my Dior Stylish Move quint. I love the purple shades in that set. I can actually work with it where it doesn't look like I got punched out Big Grin

I'll do better than tell you winking...I'll show you *goes to MAC Pigments thread to copy link to picture* -->

It's sort of a Amber/Hazel...

Funny enough I have trouble with brown eyeshadows and I thought thats that one color that would look great with brown-ish eyes. Apparently, I was wrong...or I am not applying the proper shade. Though the browns I've gotten from MAC (that I mix with Knight Divine) are wonderful Yes.

That's what I am worried about with the purples...looking like I kicked myself in the eye (it can happen...trust me I've done it lmao) or worse, looking like a raccoon Rotflol.

So you're not crazy about MAC purples huh? Hmmmm. I'll give it a try...and don't even get me started on Dior woman winking.

LOL @ Anan! You really are keeping me on track and making sure I don't break it...haha Rotflol

I think I posted this before I actually posted in the "no-buy challenge" thread so the no-buy challenge is still on. No makeup until April 1, 2007! I can do it!
