Since we've had a lot of discussion of shoes in the Fashion Forum recently, I thought it might be appropriate to start a thread. I Love Steve Madden shoes & have been wearing them ever since I was 16. I probably should be looking for some new fall styles.

My Collection:
Kisses (Black) (I have 3 of these! Love)
Kisses (Natural) (I have 4 of these! Love)
Kisses (Red): I only have 1 pair of these b/c I hardly wear red shoes, but I decided to get a pair b/c I can't go wrong w/ this style.
Dianaa (Mine are in black.)
Calabrez (In black, couldn't find a photo of this one though. It's a heeled sandal type.)

I also have 4 pairs of Old Navy flip flops, but those are for the beach or pool.

My Collection:
Metallic (I have these in blue & purple.)
Red Valentine's themed flip flops that say "Love Rocks"
Hot pink kitten heels

In the summer I live in flip flops. It's pretty much the only thing I wear. Most of my flip flops are Havaianas.

www.havaianasus.com

Other than flip flops I love wearing sneakers. Lacoste and Pumas are my favorite. I have too many pairs so i'm too lazy to find the links Bonk

I have some heels from Nine West but I don't like them anymore so I never wear them. I rarely ever wear heels but I love buying them. Makes me feel more girly but I still choose comfort so they just sit in my closet.

Cute shoes Megan. I was at Ross once and found the sweetest pair of Steve Madden black pointed-toe stiletto boots that were marked down to $10, and I desperately wanted them, but when I tried them on they wouldn't fit my feet, and there were none in a larger size.
My favorite pair of heels is my black, pointy-toed Impo t-straps. I bought them two years ago at Rack Room Shoes for $25-$30 (the most I've ever spent on a pair of shoes). They're my go-to pair when I need heels.
I also have a very cute pair of flats from Target that I got for $6 or something like that. I can't really describe them except to say that they're brown, white, and teal and the colors kind of interweave with each other.
I have a pair of lime green Converse knock-offs from Payless (and a rust-colored one, too) that I get random compliments on.
Of course, I mainly live in a ratty pair of flipflops. They have a bamboo-ish bottom and black soft rubber straps. I really need to throw them away since the soles are about to get holes in them and I bought a replacement pair at WalMart for $1 (they were unbeliveably hard to find and I'm VERY particular about my flipflops) but I just can't bring myself to get rid of them yet. They're just so perfectly broken in. I guess I'll trash them once holes actually DO form in the soles.

Love from Becky

In the warmer months during my non-working hours, I practically live in my Chaco's (similar to Tevas, but better, imo). They are sooooo comfy. When the colder weather gets here I get bummed about not being able to wear them. I am going to be soooo sad when they wear out on me.

Aren't they cool! I love their designs, they are so fun. They're really comfortable too. They last a really long time. You should try them if you are a flip flop person. I wish we had that many designs here in canada. They have a lot on the website that I haven't seen here yet.

Jade, I am not a flip flop person, but only because my toes don't allow me to be. They are all over the place, and I need something to hold them together. Rotflol

Cute stuff though, and I bet they look super cute on your feet! Yes

I've seen the Havianas flip flops before @ Urban Outfitters. I think they're kinda overpriced for rubber flip flops & usually UO only has the plain designs. However, I usually don't have a problem spending $50-$60 on a pair of Steve Madden shoes. I view all the pairs that I've bought this yr. as a fashion investment. Actually, I stocked up on all the Kisses pairs when they went on sale @ the dept. stores. Hmm...there's something that sounds a little bit familiar about stocking up on stuff when it goes on sale. Big Grin But really, I consider the Steve Madden shoes to be quality shoes @ affordable prices. I know there's SM styles that are $100+, but I don't even pay attn. to those. There have been several times I've gone into a dept. store & seen Kate Spade or Calvin Klein shoes that are $200+, so compared to that, SM shoes are fairly inexpensive.

Speaking of Kate Spade, I have a couple pairs of Kate Spade shoes that I bought at a discount on eBay several years ago & they have held up AMAZINGLY well. I can't believe how great they still look, despite having gotten a lot of wear.

I used to have a major Kate Spade handbag fetish, but I've definitely tamed that over the years, since her prices have skyrocketed even higher. grrr

Sometimes the pricier brands are worth it, but not always. One example is Juicy Couture - I have some of their sweatsuits (which I also bought on sale Big Grin), and while they're very cute, I truly don't believe that their quality is any better than something I could get at Target. One pair of velour sweatpants starting tearing at the seams after only a few wearings!!!! Gonnagetit

BBW Rawks, since you mentioned a few designers I'm familiar with, I'll raise a few pts. that are slightly OT. Kate Spade is definitely good quality designer stuff. I had a pink fabric purse that I used as my everyday purse (and I do mean every day), but I had to retire it recently after 1 1/2 yrs. of constant use. I don't think I could buy her shoes though @ those prices b/c my shoes get much more of a beating than my purses.

And I can relate to Juicy Couture. I bought a long sleeve t-shirt @ Bloomindgale's for $60 & it ended up ripping the day after I got it. Cry I think Juicy Couture's designs are cute, but I don't want to pay their prices. A lot of VS Pink stuff is actually inspired by Juicy Couture. Not only do the hoodies & sweatpants resemble Juicy Couture's designs, but a lot of the t-shirts resemble their designs, but I've found that to be the case for only the Phi Beta Pink floorset. Actually, the metallic Old Navy flip flops resemble a Juicy Couture design. Big Grin

But back to shoes. I went to the mall yesterday in search of a pair of black Steve Madden pumps. I found Venuss & got a pair of those in black. They have 2" heels & I must say my feet can tell the difference between 2" & 3" heels. They don't like them as much, but this was the cutest style that was the most convenient for me, so I will try a pair.

I also tried Pawla in black patent leather. They didn't have my size in, so I actually tried a size that was 1 size larger just for fun. I don't think I can carry off the peep toe effect. During the whole time I was wearing them, I kept thinking that I needed to touch up my pedicure. I can, however, pull of the 3.75" heels. Love

I also saw some Jessica Simpson pumps @ Dillard's that I thought were cute. Yes, JS has a shoe line now. Crap They looked a lot like a Steve Madden design called Lemore. Needless to say, I am in shoe lust over the Lemore style in black patent leather now. Love But I don't like the price tag. However, these shoes are a knockoff of a style of Christian Loboutin shoes that cost about $800.

OMG...I have become such a shoe addict this year! Blah

oh, I'm jealous, Fryl! I love getting new shoes!! I think I'll be looking for some wedges this summer. The nautical theme seems to be popping up in stores, so I imagine that will be the summer look ... which would be great in wedges!

Ciao!

Those are gorgeous! Love Unfortunately, my toes can't handle heels that high (around 2 inches is about my limit), but I really like those. Yes
