What are some of your pet peeves when you go shopping? Styles, Fit, etc.? What styles do you like or not like? I have to try on umpteen pairs of jeans to find one pr. that maybe fits just okay. I am tall, thin and short waisted, so it is not fun, (when it should be.) Since I am now a "long" way from ever being 16 again, I get frustrated with some of the styles that are out there. I spot a top on a rack that is the perfect color, and then when i get there, i see that it won't work for me, since it either has butterflies on it or has something that might look good on Brittany, but not on me.
A personal pet peeve for myself is that long sleeve shirts tend to have arms that are too long. Just because I need a larger size doesn't mean my arms are longer.
Pet peeve of other people, women who wear clothes that are too small creating bulges that don't belong and men that wear pants that go past their butt. Totally NOT attractive.
what I hate is that I am 5' tall..all the petite sizes remind me of stuff that REALLY old people would wear and other stuff for short people seems to be too young! I also want something that is stylish but I am not twenty-something anymore. I have not bought a dress in a long time because they are either too old or young looking......OH THIS IS MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE!!!!! I wear a size 5 shoe...do you think anyone keeps them in stock? Not too many stores carry them and when they do you have to be there the day they came in or you are out of luck.
texgirl, I have the opposite problem when it comes to long sleeve shirts. My body must be a freak of nature. Sleeves are always too short on me. jano1, I always wanted to be shorter. I am the one at the grocery store when someone can't reach something, im your girl. My dh is the same height as me, so heels are out. That's funny about the bulges though, because people who can walk around like that either have a lot of self-confidence, or are saying ---- you. (Jeez, i hope that's allowed.) Sorry. I would love to wear capris, but my cats think that my legs are giant chicken bones just walking around.
Deb, you are so funny... but i hear you on the TALL thing, i always wanted to be shorter, the ironic part, my friends always want to be taller??? the grass is always greener thing!! and my Fiance is actually an inch shorter than me, so i can never wear hee ls, although i do wear skechers and they have a whopper heel.
holli, I know what you mean about the greener grass because my sisters are petite and can wear the 3 inchers, but they always complain they want to be taller. I do wear heels sometimes but my dh always says, '"do you gotta wear THOSE" I am a shoe freak along with my other bad habits, and he just gets so crazed because he thinks if you have one pair of black shoes, then it's stupid to have other black shoes in your closet. Men!
Deb- Mi, I think that is a man thing - ya only need one pair of shoes for dresses, another for pants, and a pr. of tennis shoes. I always wanted to be taller, too. Where do you think that extra weight goes when short people gain it? (hint...not my boobs!) I always weighed between 98-102 lbs. until the last 4 years or so. Now I am very fluffy around the middle...goes from stomach, left hip, butt, and right hip. OK another fashion pet peeve...Fluffy people who wear those knit stretch pants in public and it shows every stomach bulge, every cottage cheese dimple etc... I know they are comfortable, but there are some things better left worn behind closed doors.
It Is definitely a MAN thing. They just do not understand we need our shoes!! My fiance gets under my skin with his football "stuff" but i understand that is his "thing" !! The saying is so true," you can't live with them or without them" although sometimes...... you can fill in the blanks i am sure:0) LOL
I like your description of the word "fluffy". That is a way better word to describe my hips than what i ordinarily would say about them. Even though i am thin, i put on the "fluffy" weight on my hips and not where i would really LOVE it to go, and that is my boobs too. I was a 36 B before I had my son(many years ago) and i was always a "stick with boobs" and i hated it! After i had my son, they disappeared. Why, i don't know. Now i would kill to have them back. April, I have to agree about the thong thing, especially on 12 year olds. I wouldn't know what to do if i had daughters. holli, my dh has one pair of dress shoes and one pair of tennis shoes. When those wear down, then he will buy another pair. So you know what im up against.
I am diffinatley fluffy which sucks as i am in high school and all even though i know it sucks to be fluffy at any stage of your life, ne way my biggest problem is finding clothes that fit well around the waist that fit over my DD's...

lol, apparently it's back (here at least). There was an editiorial in my school's newspaper about how 80s fashions are back, and it said (quite aptly, i thought), "the 80s are back, and they will consume us."

I'm not picky about fashion for others. Who cares what others wear- right???
As for myself the only thing is I wish I could find a damn bra that fit!!! I've been big-breasted since I was very young! Maybe I just need a breast reduction!
Camo print Gold jewelry Jewelry that's way too big Pointy-toed shoes (Those look like ouch!) Gaucho & capri pants Any article of white clothing unless it's a t-shirt, pj pants, or socks w/ a cute print/design on it Clothing w/ fur (Even if it's fake fur, it looks like someone's wearing roadkill on their clothing.) Shoes that are gold, silver, or copper colored (Bling on the feet is a little much.) Really short shorts Jeans that are sold w/ holes already in them Sneakers (I refuse to wear a pair of shoes other than flip flops w/ a less than 3 in. heel.) Purses that have their initials on them all over the place (LV, Dooney & Bourke, Coach) Vera Bradley bags
White skirts & tops can look good on other people, but they're not for me. I'm just annoyed @ The Ltd. for having way too much white stuff this yr. Although I think they're making up for it by getting some cute spring/summer colors recently.
I love white clothing, I have ton of white shirts, they go well with everything. I love sneakers too, they are so comfortable. I don't feel the need to wear heels to school 5 days a week at 8:00 in the morning
My biggest fashion pet peeve is when a girl's underwear sticks out from their jeans. Don't do the low rise thing when you don't have low rise underwear, it looks trashy. It's worse when they are wearing a thong. No one needs to see your butt crack.
